That's right. GM knows Americans are too lazy to see the GM CEO tell the Chinese what's really going on. It's truly amazing what politicians can get away with defecit spending. It's the ultimate tool in wealth transfer When the food stamps, unemployment bennies, entitlement programs run out, then what? |

I had a 1970 olds Cutlass with the Rocket V8 that I picked up in 1985 and drove home 8 hours from New Orleans. It had been sitting awhile and had a stuck lifter. It ticked all the way home on the highway at 60 MPH for 8 hours. Got home, my mechanic replaced a push rod and lifter ( dirt cheap parts ) and he said it was surically clean inside with no marks on the camshaft. Ran perfectly. Damn fine car. We Pulled up along side a dude in a new Porsche 944 right outside of Austin on our annual beach road trip, he glanced and laughed and pulled way at over 100 MPH. We laughed too, and hit it in my lime green Cutlass. Stayed some distance behind him for over 100 miles and over 95 MPH the whole time on Pep Boys 35.00 tires. Not speed rated tires of course. We blasted through downtown Austin at 3 AM at 100 MPH on the lower level of I35. Just insane . My crazy youth. Anyway, he slows down outside a small town to pull off, and we pull along side of him and wave. He literally does a double take at us and we know he's wondering how my old Cutlass kept up with him. Good times |

At the same time they are deferring loan payments to count to next year books and not count on this year’s books. It all a numbers scam, GM accounting practices have not changed. When in reality they are getting rid of assets that they will never be able to replace. They will not be in a position to gear up production in this country if/when the economy recovers. All by design. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |
