Look up the astrology and numerology of that date, it's absolutely insane. If something that big were to ever occur, this date might be the best choice.

Then again, chances are that nothing will happen anyway. Fun to analyze though.

Does anyone know what a 9.8 earthquake would do say good bye to earth this is a world wide event no body would survive especially earth it would be shaken out into space all the mountains would come down the worlds oceans will spill over massive flooding on the coasts cities under water and waters from tidals waves would be worldwide it would trigger other earthquake faults and i need a aspirin just thinking about something that catestrophic.

For comparison, the world's biggest quake was a M 9.5 that struck off Chile in 1960. It was devastating for the majority of the central part of the country, brought large tsunami and claimed 6,000 lives.

9.8 is 0.3 more than this one from 1960. It's akin to the difference between the other big Chile quake, the 2010 Chile 8.8 quake and the 9.1 2004 Indonesia Earthquake.

All these events were similarly large and catastrophic, so it doesn't have to be an earth-shattering global calamity...but perhaps as bad, if not a bit worse, than the 2004 quake or the 9.0 Japan quake of 2011. Basically what I mean is that this magnitude is quite possible and it would be only a bit stronger than the record quakes we've see in the last 100 yrs.

For the Earth to fall apart and there to be a world calamity, the magnitude would have to be above 11.0 to 13.0 IMO, impossible to reach unless the Earth was struck by a massive meteor.
