Pics of a actual sea monster, giant albino catfish
Things like this just have to be what people claim to see in waters all over the world. I hear catfish can get even bigger than this, pretty damn awesome catch though

This isn't a monster of any sort. It's a beautiful semi rare(albinisom) creature. This species gets quite large, again, it's not that unusual.

I don't quite understand the tendency to claim something is a monster. Also, even if it were a monster, it's not a sea monster, it's a freshwater fish.

what i meant is that this is what people are seeing in the water when they think they are seeing a "sea monster"

Bottom feeders are great eating, it just depends on the species and age of the fish. An older/heavier fish tends to have a lot more toxins accumulated in it's flesh than a younger ones so it's better to avoid those. The big ones are major breeders anyway and it's best to leave them alive to help keep the species population numbers up. Some great tasting bottom feeders would be flounder, red drum, croaker, weakfish, speckled sea trout, and catfish, typically under 10lbs.

Re: Pics of a actual sea monster, giant albino catfish
Fairly close to average size for deep water "Appaloosa" catfish in this area. They've pretty much halted river logging in substantially deep areas since so many people believe they're basically freshwater sharks.

It's an 8ft long Catfish, what is the big deal? it's not a bloody sea monster. You can get Tuna as big as 8ft, I don't see anyone screaming Nessie at those.

It took a long time to get that big, meaning it's full of toxins, I wouldn't eat it.
