An older/heavier fish tends to have a lot more toxins accumulated in it's flesh than a younger ones so it's better to avoid those. The big ones are major breeders anyway and it's best to leave them alive to help keep the species population numbers up. Some great tasting bottom feeders would be flounder, red drum, croaker, weakfish, speckled sea trout, and catfish, typically under 10lbs. |
