BREAKING: Tesla Motors makes driving FREE
Free by using "solar carports" to power fill stations. Then offering that energy FREE OF CHARGE to drivers of their cars. There are only 6 stations now but the plan is to expand to 100s stretching across the US on main thorough fairs.

This definitely could be a step in the right direction.

" Tesla Motors ( NASDAQ : TSLA ) today unveiled its highly anticipated Supercharger network. Constructed in secret, Tesla revealed the locations of the first six Supercharger stations, which will allow the Model S to travel long distances with ultra fast charging throughout California, parts of Nevada and Arizona.
The technology at the heart of the Supercharger was developed internally and leverages the economies of scale of existing charging technology already used by the Model S, enabling Tesla to create the Supercharger device at minimal cost. The electricity used by the Supercharger comes from a solar carport system provided by SolarCity, which results in almost zero marginal energy cost after installation. Combining these two factors, Tesla is able to provide Model S owners1 free long distance travel indefinitely."

Meanwhile Detroit which tried to kill the electric car a decade ago is crumbling into dust. Do the math, if you commute a good distance and can use one of these stations, the car suddenly becomes hugely cheaper than driving a gasoline car. Cheap enough that its worth getting a model S in addition to keeping your old car for rare very long trips outside of convient charging.

The middle east crazies will hate this...

Ironically Tesla can turn a profit building these in the expensive bay area while Detroit doesn't seem to be able to turn a profit on anything.

I think you're mistaking this for a Chevy Volt, which runs about 30 miles on its shitty battery and then switches back to its gas motor, all while costing our gubmint $50,000 per car.

Hydride. Hydrogen locked in solid compounds. A chainsaw through the canistor wouldn't ignite it. Here in Thailand, loads of SUV's have LPG (liquid petroleum gas) powered cars... but of course hydrogen in water falls from the sky... difficult to tax, and sky bandits might appear!

What they'd rather not tell you is that it can take 12 hours to charge the car as opposed to the 30 seconds it takes to refill a fuel tank.
Some electric cars have a quick-charge feature, but if it's used too much, the batteries will need to be replaced in as little as 5 years. The max you can get out of them is about 10 years. Since these batteries are more expensive than a conventional engine, these cars aren't exactly cost effective.
Even with free electricity.

Sheepie's believe everything !!

Do some research on a company called Eestor. you will see that they have 2 granted patents from the USPO and a partnerdhip with Lockheed Martin. Media and them telling you it doesnt work.

ask yourself,

1) Is the patent office in the business of approving patents covering technology that doesnt work (Man we would have billions and billions of patents by now)

2) Is Lockheed Martin in the business of partnering with companies that have fraudulent technology.

Answer these questions !

The Tesla cars blow hard. Too many problems and way too expensive to make. They have be FAILING sine they started up.

Come on guys lets keep it real. We all know that there is technology out there that can get 200 miles a gallon or a almost free enegry vehicle. But those are not released.

Why the hell do you think they will release a good electric car? They wont and never will. They will always be way subpar from what could really be made. The EV made by GM was better then Hybrids and those crap ass Tesla cars of today.

I've spoken with the Tesla engineers about the batts. Once the batts need to be changed from the car, they are apparently still pretty good for stuff like storing household solar power etc. Just not high performance enough for the cars. So it's not a complete environmental write off, and I think they take em back when completely done after many years.
