Our school had the long wooden paddle with the drilled out holes in it so it hurt like hell.
I acted up enough on several times that finally my teachers had witnessed enough.
I will completely admit now as an adult that at the time completely deserved my ass whippings too!
I got paddled by male teachers but they had enough sense to get a female teacher from another room to witness the hall way punishment.

Beating a kid senseless is wrong but a little punishment, sometimes dolled out by strangers. really embarrass them and makes them understand they can't crap on the world when Mommy and Daddy isn't around.

I see no reason a male staff member shouldn't paddle a female student. It would be best to have a female witness.

Obviously if the girl is wearing a short skirt, accomodations should be made to decency. But otherwise there should be no difference.

If you failed to teach, your offspring how to behave what chance do the have in gaining an education if mom or dad promises to fly off the handle and not take responsibility.
