Keyword here is PRIOR to consulting with officials.. In other words, they are pissed off that they couldn't tweak the news. Or, they are implying that Texas Brine already had agreed to have all press releases verified/approved by certain "officials" before public release. | Slick Vick (OP) User ID: 15311505 09/25/2012 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So here's the lowdown, as of recently. - The cavern has caved in from the inside, but no words on what this actually means. My firstthought is 'permanent'. - Officials haven't been able to identify the source of the bubbling natural gas in the area - They haven't been able to provide answers to certain test results, nor provide results of the natural gas seepage samples - Flyovers are shoddy, lower altitude than they previously were in attempt to hide the expansion. Size/growth measurements are downplayed majorly. This is evident by viewing early videos in comparison to recent ones. View them all HERE >>> [link to www.youtube.com] I'm wondering if this is a no-fly zone but I haven't been able to find any information. | Slick Vick (OP) User ID: 15311505 09/25/2012 01:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ![]() It seems like there's far too much gas being released to actually be coming from the well. I think it's earthquake type shit, inner earth gas from very deep, like an uncontrolled source. ![]() Last Edited by Slick Vick on 09/25/2012 01:32 PM Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. |

I always pin good threads. This is serious, I'm eager to see what the analysis of the cavern failure is. I'm also dying to hear how they plan to resolve it, especially since a resolution was a huge part of their plan. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. |

This shit is pretty serious. If the cavern has failed, and it's salt, it will only continue to do so. Saltwater (brine) will slow the process but ultimately those walls WILL corrode completely and then what? WHy is there no mention of what seperates this cavern from the one containing butane, or any other neighboring wells? Is it rock, shale, clay, or just more salt?? | Anonymous Coward User ID: 8257346 09/25/2012 03:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | if it's failed, why is it still level ground? what's filling the hole? yes, I know it's water, but from where? Surely if a huge space like that cavern was breached that would fill up with water? Is it full of water? does anyone know? any very recent pics of it too? [link to www.bayoubuzz.com] on that link they're using a pic from 7 weeks ago why no recent pic? this is puzzling. |

I dont care, about the salt cavern underneath it... I just want to know. WHEN, is all the Butane, going blow up and explode like a spectacular A Bomb? The rest of the news about this Sink Hole? = a waste of reading time... |

Well, whatever it is is underwater..so therefore if naturally made would most likely not be anything that could hold back radiation, or butane etc..its a disaster waiting to BLOW! |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 20609565 09/25/2012 03:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If it catastrophically fails like Lake Peigneur did 20 years ago, and there is access to the Bayou that connects to the Gulf...the water from the Gulf will flow into the collapsed cavern. There is a video on YT about what happened then. I don't know how deep the salt mine was then - but the drilling rig breached it at 1300 ft. This salt dome is 4,000 feet deep and I'm not enetirely sure it's completely full of anything. There's enough of a cavern to cause the sinkhole! Took 2 days for the Gulf to fill up the salt mine and the lake. Just think about the force of the water rushing upstream to fill everything in...and think about what that kind of water movement will do to wash out more of the salt. Maybe breach the other domes with the propane and butane?? All in all, a real nightmare! |
