Doctor, HVAC, computer science , engineer, etc. communications degrees can be useful, oprah has one. But not many degree's are worth shit. Most kids change their majors several times before graduating. Those who go to a 4 year college spend the first 2 years taking core classes before spending their last 2 years taking the classes for their degrees. Go to work for a few years, save your money & then start taking classes. If you have to take out a loan to go to school, you can't afford to go. I'm in my 3rd year at a community college (2 classes per semester), I have a full ride & a GPA of 3.81. I've told both of my kids, do NOT take out student loans, there is no guarantee of a job after school & so far my son has held to that & my daughter plans on doing that also. vaccinefreehealth blogspot com The risk far outweighs any benefit as the risk will vary from child to child. facebook.com/graphixyourway |

Did a 3 months contract after that, then went back as a full time employee at $85k a year cause of the tech crash. That job lasted 2 years, then was unemployed for about 4.5 months.. that sucked.. landed my current job where I work now for over 9 years.. working at home.. I pity kids getting out of school now.. I feel sorry for my kids. I have had a great ride. |

I got it up nicely and was earning a nice income...finally. I had three employees who were able to make a living, too. Then the economy jerked it all out from under me. After thinking about it for a while I decided to go to college on grants and student loans. I am tired of going shopping after work looking like a dirty bum. I'm tired of going to bed every night with the stress and worry of being a business owner. I'm tired of working 70 hours a week (20 or more of it at night after work keeping up with expenditures and payroll and taxes). Fuck it. I'll go in debt and try for a white collar job that I want to do. Not an insurance salesman or a business man, but a scholar. The best part is that all those loans will inflate away to chump change when the economy goes bust. LOL!!! I win!!! And Ph.Ds are welcomed into every country in the world. Everybody wants scholars. |

She is majoring in Accounting, with a minor in Business, and also will have an Associates Degree in Organizational Management when she gradutes in 2016. Her boyfriend is taking the same classes. They plan to work for at least a year with an Accounting Firm, and then create their own. Their goal, besides to eventually get married, is to own their own business, be their own boss. In the meantime, besides going to college full time, my daughter works part time at a seasonal job, and her boyfriend works full time. They are both very ambitious, and real go-getters. She graduated 1st in her class with a GPA of 4.49 and he graduated 5th in the class with a GPA of 4.34. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |
