Living in Europe is not as great as it seems, all of a sudden...
 Quoting: RoXY

A lot of the European ones are closed down now, so that map is a little inaccurate.

However, it's still a tight space for a lot of reactors and people.

Otherwise, I'd probably move there...

#1 worst place to be for a reactor meltdown has got to be the US though, they're the kings of reactor-town, and old ones too.

The use of clean energy was solved by Tesla in the early 1900's... but TPTB wanted $$$$$ lots and lots of $$$$$$$ so they locked Tesla's inventions away and perpetrated the energy systems we have today.

It isn't that the technologies aren't there, it's that clean energy is free to all so there aren't $$$$$$$'s to be made by TPTB...although I do believe there is money to be made by the invention of new technologies based on Tesla's free energy.. they just aren't set up to make money on that so they'd rather stay with what they know.

This map is not accurate. When you drive from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park in South Africa, you pass no less than 4 nuclear power plants (it might be more--it's been ten years since I've been there). Yet the map only shows one nuclear power plant somewhere in the vicinity of Cape Town.

Just to let you guys know. Most of those places are not even functioning today. They are old listings of nuclear reactors. Most of the stuff takes years to break down, and by that time they are buried. Just because it lists nuclear reactors, doesn't mean they are all functioning.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24446691

Even if only half of them are functioning I still don't feel comfortable with it
 Quoting: RoXY

Well, if you don't feel comfortable then i guess we should just turn them all off and go back to the stone age. How comfortable do you feel with that idea?

Our background radiation level here in the United States (Northern Hemisphere) is twice that of Australia (Southern Hemisphere).

Where are most of the nuclear plants? That is right. Northern Hemisphere!

We are killing ourselves with radioactive pollution. Thoseso called safe plants leak radiation like sieves. They are constantly emitting radioactive gases and other stuff.

Germany has shut down the Nuclear Industry in their country effective in a few years. The rest of the world needs to do the same.

Noticing no plants in Australia. But I think there is one in NSW (any Aussies know if this is true) Australians have always voted against having Nuclear Power Plants in our country- altho there is always a strong lobby to go into production of same. I'm glad we stayed out of this. One thing we have going for us here in Australia is the low population (22 million) lots of sunlight, and wind farms are becoming more and more common..

Researchers Determine 23 Plants and 74 Active Nuclear Reactors Vulnerable to Effects of Tsunami
By Madison Ruppert
September 25, 2012

The dangerous reality of nuclear power is becoming increasingly apparent in the wake of the continuing (and “profoundly man-made”) disaster at Fukushima as well as studies which project similarly devastating disasters in the future.

Yet nations including Japan continue to press forward with nuclear power in spite of the clear dangers and the widespread public opposition to the deadly technology. That being said, Japan recently announced that they will seek to phase out nuclear power generation by 2040, although how hard they will push toward this goal has yet to be seen.

The case against nuclear power just gets stronger with another study headed by Spanish researchers which identifies nuclear power plants which are especially vulnerable to suffering the devastation of a tsunami.

“In total, twenty-three plants, in which there are seventy-four active nuclear reactors, are located in dangerous areas in east and southeast of Asia, including Fukushima I,” Homeland Security News Wire reports.

The researchers found the “potentially dangerous” sites which are either already constructed or currently under construction. While scientists still cannot perfectly predict tsunamis and obviously thus cannot predict nuclear disasters as a result of tsunamis, they can identify potentially problematic sites before any real danger is present.

All those nuclear power plants across the US, who many problems have they caused?

No the nuclear waste is the most irresponsible thing we did when we built them. Even if, barring an earthquake, or some act of terrorism, they can claim to be a safe source of energy, we built them without knowing what to do with the waste, and the waste is deadly for us and the planet. I don't know the answer or what the hell we're going to do with all that stuff now. And I live in Pa., but don't look for us on the map, as you can't see us, we're all covered in red dots. Where I live we joke we're in the triangle of death, a plant to the north, one to the southeast, and one to the southwest!
