A codex file was deleted..go to restore in security settings and pick a restore date before u downloaded the movie..


start button..then control panel button ..then system security button..then restore computer to earlier date button..

Window error page or won't go past bios?

Is the screen dim like ther is a black translucent overlay?

if its not going past bios POST its a hardware issue or corrupt bios(unlikly).

If its just windows that is dimmed it sounds like UAC has kicked in and you have some kind of malware trying to suppess the UAC this can cause a dimmed screen like you describe.

How is the display connected , HDMI, DVI, VGA
Will need more info, OS version, Hardware installed etc.
