"One guitar built by Ecole Selkirk Junior High students and signed by former President Bill Clinton went for $800. Guitars signed by NHL star Jonathan Toews and rock band Rush each cracked the $2,000 mark. But the top bid at Thursday night's gala dinner and auction, put on by 200 students, went for the student-built guitar signed by Ann and Nancy Wilson of rock band Heart: $3,150. Fifty-one weeks after the Grade 8 and 9 students of Ecole Selkirk Junior High began building guitars in shop class to raise funds for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, they crossed the finish line. The kids built 54 guitars during lunch hours and after school. They were creative with their guitar heads, sculpting them into everything from headstones to a lightning bolt."
