Why do I keep finding blood in my eggs?!!!!
It's really pissing me off! Out of a dozen eggs I almost always find three eggs with blood in them. It's been like that for at least a year now. In the years past I might have found one egg with blood out of 5 dozen but now I find several in every dozen.

Does not. Means the chicken may be young and just learning to lay. They get a sore spot in their insides and a little blood ends up in the egg. No worries, no baby, it is a wives tail. A fertile egg is hard to tell from infertile one first couple days, no blood at all.

. . . they do something to eggs thatis called "candle". If thereis a blood spot or anything of a wrong nature in the egg, theywill beable to see it. Workers are being pushed over the brink now, so theyare taking shortcuts, such as not candling all the eggs, or theyare told to do it.

Ive been raising chickens for a while and see the same thing. Even before we ever had a rooster. I believe it is from young hens, but could be a few things like stress, weather, diet. It really isnt anything to worry about. Just scrape the blood specks out with a fork.

Re: Why do I keep finding blood in my eggs?!!!!
Eggs with a visible blood spot on the yolk are safe for consumption. The spot can be removed with the tip of a knife. Blood or "meat" spots are occasionally found on an egg yolk. These tiny spots are not harmful and are caused by the rupture of a blood vessel during formation of the egg. Blood spots do not indicate a fertilized egg. Mass candling methods reveal most blood spots and those eggs are removed, but even with electronic spotters, it is impossible to catch all of them. If desired, the spot can be removed with the tip of a clean knife prior to cooking. These eggs are safe to eat.

Re: Why do I keep finding blood in my eggs?!!!!
My brown egg layers used to have that problem a lot. They are free range with feed at night, after I lock them in their coop, to supplement. As soon as I stopped using the feed store layer feed and started using "certified gmo free - organic layer", the blood spots stopped within about 1-2 weeks. I do have an egg occasionally that has what's called meat spots, but very seldom.

Blood in eggs means the chickens were injured in some way ..like being chased by dogs when a hen is heavy with eggs can cause it..or someone beating it or kicking a chicken can also cause it.
I used to raise chickens and sell eggs to the local store so i know how it works.

Re: Why do I keep finding blood in my eggs?!!!!
I find this also in my eggs, always have.

when i was young and had my 3,5min egg on sunday, i openend it and there was this black (from cooked blood) spot in it. neither my mum or dad had this problem with their eggs.
the thing is, i cannot eat an egg either with this bloody spot in it.
but it seems to happen more often, usually 5 out of 10 eggs were good (i always put them in a glass and look at them before i throw them to the bacon in the pan).
last weekend i ended up throwing away 17 eggs (both cage and free range) because they had this blood clump in them.
i don´t know why and where this comes from, but i end up eating nearly no eggs at all now :(

It's impossible if you cook your eggs properly. I lived without electricity for a good chunk of the summer. We would buy meat's and cheese. Hold 'em for 2 days because we can't eat it all in one sitting. Even when it get's gamey as long as it's cooked thoroughly you can't get sick. You can even eat roadkill that's rotting if you have nothing else but the rule of thumb is 'burn it to a fucking crisp'. I've never eaten roadkill though.

We cook chicken. Have leftovers. Recook in the morning. Still left overs. Recook at night. Never got sick once.

I ate 2 burgers from Braums my buddy had bought at lunch that had been sitting out for about 8 hours. Got sick for a few days.

I leave mcdonalds sitting out for 24 hours. Don't heat it up and eat it and yet I don't get sick ever. Something about real food has to be recooked to kill the bacterias but that mcdonalds shit is good to go. It kills the bacteria itself probably lol.

Plus the multiplying bacteria probably add extra nutrition once they've been properly cooked. When shit hit's the fan so many of you aren't going to be able to handle the stress.

Does it gross you out to eat moldy bread. Moldy cheese? Cheese is baisically controlled decomposition of milk with renin added to curdle it. You can leave milk in a glass and cover the top. Put it in a dark cubbyhole or cabinet and after about 2 weeks put some salt on it and stir it up and it's like the best cottage cheese ever. I learned that off the internet.
