[link to en.wikipedia.org] For the past 3000 years, numerous large California earthuakes along the San Andreas fault, have ALL been preceded by a larger event taking place within Cascadia, which acted as the trigger for the San Andreas to go off... with the direction of the rupture travelling from North from Cascadia, to the South through the San Andreas... The only exception thus far to this, was the 1906 San Fransisco earthquake which ruptured from the south, going to the north, and was not preceded by any event within Cascadia... But all others, were preceded by something happening within Cascadia... Therefore, I stand by my prediction that the next "big one" for California will be preceded by an even larger and far more devastating one taking place within Cascadia... |

Hopefully you are wrong. I hope so too... The United States would not survive such an event in Cascadia, not in its current state and economy... But I do feel something is imminent there. The last major rupture in Cascadia was January 1700... precisely 312 years ago, actually January 2013 will be the 313 year anniversary of that event... which takes place roughly once every 250 - 450 years. It was large, and Japan has confirmed it sent a Tsunami rushing across the entire Pacific, washing up on to their shores! Native American's have legends and stories of the Event, claiming that the ground shook violently, more so then they had ever felt it shake ever before; and that the ground belched out fire and burning blood (lava?), and then they claim the ocean came washing in, though its hard to say for how far it washed in, some say it was for miles, but one also has to consider that Native American's did not use the "mile" to measure their distances back then... So all we can go off of, is their legends that say where the water went, and guess from there... American scientists, siesmologists, and architects all say that Seattle Washington, would not survive a Cascadia quake. It would be nearly completely destroyed... America can't take such a disastor... Not in its current state... |
