Tired as hell, go to bed and lie there with my mind racing. It is like I just drank a high octane cup of coffee. I used to be able to fall to sleep within 5 minutes of my head hitting the pillow. Now, it's like I am just lying there in a light doze without every really falling to sleep. I'm about to go crazy! |

Nothing will touch them. My daughters are also having them. I don't know what to do or what is causing them Quoting: wants to know 1520097 Imitrex is a miracle for my migraines, but I ran out for the last two headaches. They lasted 3 days each. The fatigue is what is making me crazy. I wake up every morning cranky and tired. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. Radiation? I would also imagine that the cabin air on airplanes is not too great. I was diagnosed and treated for malignant melanoma (stage 3) six years ago, and although my Osteopath didn't come right out and say it, he told me to research solar/cosmic radiation. Turns out the aluminum fuselage doesn't really protect us from this type of radiation and at cruise altitude the atmosphere doesn't protect us either. Of course, when I brought it up to anyone, they looked at me crosseyed, so I learned to keep my mouth shut. The onset and severity of this episode is what is bothersome to me. It came out of nowhere. Radiation? I would also imagine that the cabin air on airplanes is not too great. About the cabin air; it isn't recirculated like many believe. It is drawn in through the engines, heated and vented into the cabin. The real issue is how often they change/clean the air filters. But in any case, I've flown for a little over 11 years, so I don't really have any problems with it that I know of. This seems more like exposure to something recently or some kind of pathology with the quick onset. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. KungPowMeowMeow (OP) User ID: 11092695 United States 09/26/2012 11:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | See a neurologist. Seriously. Ct Scan and MRI with contrast would be a good place to start. May have an aneurysm that hasn't ruptured. Best of luck and I hope it's nothing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11758884 This is frightening, because with the last migraine I was inflight and it literally felt like something was going to burst if I strained. Even standing up or bending over put enough strain on my brain to scare me. I went to my GP two weeks ago (about 10 days after this started) and she didn't seem concerned. She called it "classic migraine symptoms." But the fact that the fatigue is the most prominent symptom leads me to believe something else may be the cause. I will call her in the morning and have her schedule one. Thanks for the advice. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. Today when I was in the bathroom I felt like I pinched a nerve in my shoulder, my whole body felt really sore. At work tonight a co-worker mentioned that she and her sister were feeling exhausted for the past few days and didn't know why. (she mentioned this out of the blue, by the way). I haven't been having the migraines but definately the sleep problems and tiredness. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1610534 United States 09/27/2012 01:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since around Labor Day, I can sleep all day and still be exhausted. I have had 4 migraines in that time period as well, and my insurance company will only pay for the medication to treat 2 migraines per month, so I've had to suffer with the last two. To make matters worse, I am a flight attendant, so when a migraine hits at work the pressurization makes them so unbelievably painful I vomit. Quoting: KungPowMeowMeow I do my best to drink 120 oz of water, eat fresh fruits and veggies and exercise every day. I had the past two days and was so exhausted I didn't get much done before I head back out tomorrow for another 5 days. Is anyone else having similar issues? I considered season changes, mystery virus, allergies, or something more malefic. Please give me your input! For migraine pain if you don't have prescription meds, take one advil and one excedrin together. If you take it early when the pain is mild, that should be enough. If it's not, take a second combo dose. To sleep, go to the health food store and get some melatonin. It's natural and non-addictive and actually very helpful on a lot of ways. Take two 1mg doses and see if that's enough. Adjust as necessary. But you should just start feeling naturally sleepy. And try laying off the caffeine in whattever form. DOn't drop it too fast, because that will cause a migraine. But get yourself off - that shit is poison, and leads to (among other things) adrenal exhaustion, which causes every symptom you have. Best wishes! |

Robot Emotions User ID: 24314945 United States 09/27/2012 01:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The fact that Imitrex works well for you leads me to believe you might be suffering from a decline in serotonin. This is the traditional cause of migraine headaches. Some things that help boost serotonin levels: Avoid lots of sugars and carbs. Not completely, but cut back. Exercise. Bright light therapy. Like the kind used in seasonal mood disorders. Avoid stimulant cycles (coffee, sugar, alcohol as morning, noon, night routine) Sleep well. You have a problem with this, and lack of good sleep can seriously impact serotonin production. Might be the root of your problems. Avoid emotional stress. Might be tough considering you're in customer service. |
