York is suffering one of its worst ever floods, with the River Ouse at its second highest level. The water level peaked in York at 5.06m above the normal level. It is further expected to peak mid-morning in Cawood and Selby. York is a walled city, situated at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss in North Yorkshire, England.
