I feel the concept and I gotta appreciate when people rap about real issues since there's so much of people being superficial going around. I won't pretend I don't listen to that stuff too but something like this can really make you feel something. Keep doing what you're doing and working at your craft. I rap too this is the first track from my mixtape coming out on October 5th. |

The counter stops counting and updates every few hours at 300 views - and locks for 24-48 hours for an non-paying user. It'll never keep count of likes, dislikes, comments etc accurate. Good luck on your journeys making music - 1lov3 Prophet~ |

As long as you enjoyed producing it, it will never matter what your audience thinks. Its good to have them as moral support but at the end of the day, the more effort you put into your work the better your going to feel about it and thats the bottom line. Do it from the heart and be happy while your doing it :) (i gotta take my own damn advice....ha) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18069765 United States 09/28/2012 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you all - and the critique is a very real one and it's hard to explain why my vocals are lifeless... Quoting: Prophet. - It's a very mild mild form of Autism - It's called Aspergers I try the best I can... All I ever wanted was love... I am overwhelmed... I can't believe it got pinned... You know for how lifeless... it seems... This makes me cry... tears of absolute joy.. I cannot explain what this means to me.. When you feel you have no hope in this world... and life has you down... It's little things... Things like this that wake a person up - to feel more alive. I cannot thank you enough... <3 With everything I am, and will ever be. There is your problem right there. Don't use mental illness as an excuse. Every artist is a mental case in some way (any one that says other wise is narcissistic or just a well functioning Psychopath), you need to use it to your benefit. If you do something that is embarrassing, stuttering for example, then stutter with purpose. Exude confidence in your vocals. Each line has to be said with the emotional conviction that it describes. When you talk about rage we need to feel the rage in your voice, when you talk about love need to feel the love. It takes time and is hard to switch emotions that quick but is worth it. It is kind of like acting. It can be uncomfortable at first and you can feel like your not being real, but push through that. The moment your thought drifts and becomes negative or not ungenuine you loose the "connection." Record yourself and listen for the emotion. If you don't feel it when you hear it then approach it differently. |
oscillator01 User ID: 1899433 United States 09/28/2012 01:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the music doesn't sound mixed at all. The drums sounded paper thin, but it was obviously ran through a mastering program at the end and squashed it all to zero db. The kick needs to be ballsy and bass heavy, the snare could use a bit more snap, some comp'd aux tracks and verb could thicken this up, some eq and effects on instruments would help. yes capture a better vocal performance. i like to record vocals phrase by phrase about 4 times...that way you can go back and pick the best takes and piece it together like a puzzle. no need to try to get it right all the way through. sounds like a default mastering plug in, which is essential, but it seems to have gotten the job done. all in all for someone learning, good job! the only way to keep learning is to jump in there and keep experimenting! ^ (¿) ^ |
Spittin'Cesium User ID: 14589973 Netherlands 09/28/2012 01:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If I was you I would make some adjustments like,doubling/tripling the Vocal tracks each in a different pitch to beef out the sound - double this again for the Choras..also I'd trim the very top off of the Highhats and Treble in general, try and sink the Vocal Tracks in amongst it just that little bit smoother - All in all though a decent bit of work! oscillator01 User ID: 1899433 United States 09/28/2012 02:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not too bad Brother! Quoting: Spittin'Cesium If I was you I would make some adjustments like,doubling/tripling the Vocal tracks each in a different pitch to beef out the sound - double this again for the Choras..also I'd trim the very top off of the Highhats and Treble in general, try and sink the Vocal Tracks in amongst it just that little bit smoother - All in all though a decent bit of work! ^^THIS^^ i forgot to mention doubling the vocals. like i said, i will record about 4 takes of each section (however long you feel comfortable performing at a time) then go back and pick the best TWO of each...so you end up with a main vox and a doubled vox track, have the volume lower on the 2nd vox track, and run them both thru all the same aux's and effects, and it will just make your voice sound MUCH thicker...most people can't perceive they are really hearing more than one of the same vocal take layered together several times. Also the vocals sound like the are just kinda floating high above the rest of the music, beefing up the EQ of the music around the vocals, and pulling the overall volume of the vocals dowb will help, perhaps a bit of automation. mix WITHOUT the mastering plugin, because with it being all slammed to zero DB you cant really hear the dynamics, apply the mastering AFTER the mix. ^ (¿) ^ |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 300884 Sweden 09/28/2012 02:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The word "song" implies there will be actual singing, and that someone bothered to come up with a melody. It's OK for tone deaf people to amuse themselves making "music" too, but it should really be called something else to avoid confusion. |

Clashes against the beat hard, and I was trying to find another way around it- Did some vocal adjustments again - hopefully the slur / 50 cent thing isn't as announced as before - Let me know! <3 <3 **Edit** I appreciate all the help, and direction: Any suggestions are welcome and wonderful. Thank you all Prophet~ |
