I used (not a lot) about a 1/4 cup lavender bath salts in a half a tub of warm water, and used lavender liquid soap on my three cats. As I was washing them both me and my partner was amazed to see those little buggers try to run for their lives. Fortunately it was too late, it started killing them immediatly. I then brushed my cats and used tweezers and removed all the dead fleas I could see. My cat love me afterwards. As I was petting her more dead fleas fell off her. I was very happy to know my cats were no longer being eaten. I then took a step further an mixed part water and part tea tree oil and sprayed it on all furnature and carpets. I also use it around all doors and window seals ANSI keeps all bugs out of my home. I have used tea tree oil in my house for years and have always used it aroun my house, add it I my shampoo for my kids to prevent lice at school and my cats have always been fine. Hope this helps I know that after paying big dollars on the most expensive products and them not working and me only paying three dollars and it working for all three cats and enough to do them all again. It deffinatly made my day and my cats :-) Quoting: A.geraghty 1266463 They said bath salts kill..:) |

It's what we owe our pets for a life time of joy they often bring us. Some people can't afford it but most can if they bite the bullet and tighten their belts a little. Some places will even do it for free if they're truly poor. |

She has been my companion for 16 years and I would never do anything to harm her , I do believe that dying is a natural process and a process it is...boy oh boy...she is ok though. My Aunty went through a dying process recently and I can assure you it was much worse than what my little fur daughter is going through. I took her to the vet and he suggested we put her down and I said I could not let her die at the clinic and asked how much to do it at my home, he said $250...I dont even have that much money...jeepers She is ok, she is merely dying. I love her very much and if I thought that she was in horrible pain I would get pain killers but still let her die at home...this is where she belongs and this is where she will die. Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts |

Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts It's your animal and no one has a right to tell you what to do with it. My only concern is to lessen the suffering of a beloved pet. $250 is a lot of money. Do what your heart is telling you to do because you're far more important than an animal. |

Pour a lot of it on and rub it in without water. After a minute or two star washing it off and you will see the fleas fall dead into the water. Then mix Avon skin so soft with 50% water and spray your pets and their bedding. Its meant as a bath oil or skin lotion, so it's safe to use around children and pets. You can also get food grade diatomaceous earth and dust your pets, the bedding, and everything else. It's even good to use in the garden to kill most bugs and is so safe you can eat a bucket full without any ill effects. Just avoid breathing it in, as it can be harmful to the lungs if inhaled. |

A.Geraghty User ID: 1260333 Canada 09/29/2012 10:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | See that's where my problem came from was someone came into my house and didn't tell me that there cat had fleas. I'm assuming that they must have came in on my friend. I don't blame them I'm just upset it happened as in 3 years my cats have never got fleas. An I have used tea tea oil in my home for years and around pets of all sorts. If tea tree oil is so bad for humans and animals alike I'm positive that thy would have it writen on the containers. Everyone has there own believes and that is to be respected and I would never argue. However I only speak on my own experiences and the results I have achieved with these methods. My cats are perfectly fine today and are super soft and super happy I will be giving them another bath tommorow for any that didn't die and will continue to watch my babies to ensure that they are completely gone. I'm also vacuuming twice a day an using my tea tree oil solution around the home. Whether people take my advice or disagree, again too each their own open. For anyone who does choose to do it hope it works as good for you as it has for me. And I'm so sorry to hear about your car, my best wishes to you and your family, I had to put my dog down 2 years ago from parvo and it was the hardest thing ever. I cried for hours holding him before he passed in our arms. The only thing that got me threw each days was knowing that they are no longer in pain, are in great hands now, and are happy. Best wishes again. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 625889 My cat is currently dying, I hope she doesn't make it through another 24 hours..*cries quietly* She wont be needing it Ohhh sweetie :( I just rescued a kitty that has been hanging around all summer. Her name is Kricket. It's spelled with a K because my next door neighbor thought it should match the first letter of my name, and she was eating the Locusts all summer long and we didn't think Locust was a good name for a cat - especially in Texas farm country. So Kricket she is; all snuggled up snoring on my bed. I know how hard it is to lose a Furby. I've lost two :( You'll both be in my thoughts. Eireann~ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20 |

I just brought in a wild kitten (was quickly and easily tamed, sweet little buggar!) Diatomacious earth got rid of most outdoors (when he was hangin' on the patio and beginning to let me touch him) and the daily flea comb makes bonding/taming and de-fleaing a win-win-win. Live fleas that drop off into the bathroom sink or get stuck in the comb and knocked into the sink are quickly dispatched with Windex. Ya work with what ya got. Who does your thinking? |
