Pop the spacebar? Looks like someone wants you to break your genius computer.

Yes. Here is how. Keep in mind that space bars are harder than regular keys because many have a spring in them.

Hello Shada,where-ever you may be : )

Good call,we reached G3 and a averaged KP index of 7 [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] which means at times the KP will have reached 8/9.

The Gakona HAARP Fluxgate Magnetometer measured a maximum deviation of 500nT - Aurora were seen by many all over the place but unfortunately not by moi,oh well : )

Anyhoo',I hope you are good and enjoying whatever it is you are doing Sol Brother and I'll/We'll 'see' you soon hopefullycheers

I think this aplies to this post. The Mayans talk of a new element coming into play, ether, the space between space.

Here is the most recent Geomagnetic K-indices from NOAA [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] That "Estimated Planetary" row was just an estimation in the first place, estimations can change. The Stations listed there never reported anything over a mid-six [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Please point out this "Big One" on this chart [link to umtof.umd.edu] It was actually less than the Wind Speed of 500 km/s and Density of 50 that I predicted back on the 28th. Definitely NOT a "Big One".

Here is the new Sunspot Prediction [link to solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov]

"The current prediction for Sunspot Cycle 24 gives a smoothed sunspot number maximum of about 75 in the Fall of 2013. The smoothed sunspot number (for 2012/02) is already nearly 67 due to the strong peak in late 2011 so the official maximum will be at least this high. We are currently well over three years into Cycle 24. The current predicted and observed size makes this the smallest sunspot cycle since Cycle 14 which had a maximum of 64.2 in February of 1906..."

Another recent story; Solar maximum? Oh, you just missed It [link to www.newscientist.com]

 Quoting: TBar1984

I would never advise to use any NOAA K or Kp offering as an accurate depiction of planetary geomagnetic storming. In this case, however, their estimate is correct.

The official Kp index (NOT an estimate) is provided by the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. [link to www-app3.gfz-potsdam.de]

They use a network of 13 magnetometer observatories scattered widely across the entire globe. [link to www-app3.gfz-potsdam.de]

GFZ recorded a Kp 7o for the same time period as NOAA offered a Kp 7 estimate [link to www-app3.gfz-potsdam.de] . In official Kp, each number has 3 scales, starting at -, then o, then +. So officially, this was not even a "barely" Kp 7 storm, but a firm one. Just a Kp 7- qualifies for G3 (strong) NOAA categorization. And this was 7o (a scale stronger). So it's indisputable that this was a strong storm.

Kp 7o's do not appear out of thin air, it takes significant solar activity to induce that strong of a level of storming.
