My heart likes to express in poetry,
it has a natural flow, you see?
Of all the words throughout language,
it's rhythm my heart seeks, because it doesn't damage.
My heart saw long ago,
words without rhythm don't know where to go.
Words in rhythm have their flow,
the heart is where they always go.
Flow, flow, flow from the heart,
Makes Cupid's arrow arrive at the start.
Love to love is the only way,
To experience heaven every day.
When hearts unite, there is a glow,
Because love always embraces the flow.
Love free of dams and barriers,
Moves freely, softly into chambers,
Just allow it to embrace the embers,
already glowing within members,
of humanity as a spark,
that shines away the dark.
Yes there are dreams that died,
And tears I cried.
I was in agony,
Not meant for me.
Agony within my bones,
Where all I heard were the moans,
Of a heart broken and experiencing cruel,
darkness and pain and horrors too bleak,
For any soul to ever speak.
The weight so heavy I couldn't breathe,
The panic and chaos and pain with no relieve.
For years and years of tears and pain,
over and over and over again.
Suicide, an option desperately tried,
Didn't work to my despair,
So my soul was fried.
Guilt, loneliness, hate were my friends,
Revenge, sorrow, insanity, my neighbors,
Escape from blackness wasn't even a desire.
Innocence brought a laugh.
Robot life, cardboard person I became,
To the depths of agony I swam.
Eventually, a small ember glowed,
which brought to life and showed,
A way to follow,
Where trust and love could swallow,
All the pain, all the hurt,
And dry, tired bones began to rise from the dirt.
Flowers sprung, sunshine sang,
Rain caressed and newness rang.
What I found is love floats.
No matter how far it seems,
It bobs back up and isn't a dream.
I found it's the only thing to trust,
And is always there, it doesn't rust.
It guides, it embraces, it grows,
It changes sharp, prickly, battered thorns into a lovely, tender, fragrant rose.
And Love brings the heart further still,
As depths are plumbed for the heart to feel.
