I know what others seem to believe. The whole basis for the doom scenario is the "Mayan Calendar", which they said showed the end. This is blatantly false, by itself. December 21, 2012 - IF we have our dates right, and that is a huge IF - is, according to the Mayans, the end of a Galactic Age, and a time when humanity will find its' spirituality. It's the equivalent of December 31st on one of our calendars. Their calendar actually goes on for about 3,000 more years.

This is the Mayan version of Y2k. The same thing's going to happen as happened on Y2k, too: absolutely nothing of consequence.
