Breaking - U.N. Taking up issue of "Redistribution of Wealth" - Considering a Global Tax on Rich Nations, targetting the U.S. as "too wealthy!"

A 1 percent tax on billionaires around the world. A tax on all currency trading in the U.S. dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen and the British pound sterling. Another “tiny” tax on all financial transactions, including stock and bond trading, and trading in financial derivatives. New taxes on carbon emissions and on airline tickets. A royalty on all undersea mineral resources extracted more than 100 miles offshore of any nation’s territory.

The United Nations is at it again: finding new and “innovative” ways to create global taxes that would transfer hundreds of billions, and even trillions, of dollars from the rich nations of the world — especially the U.S. — to poorer ones, in line with U.N.-directed economic, social and environmental development.

Psalm 90:4 .. 2 Peter 3:8
1 Day to God, is 1000 years on Earth.

Do the Math, Genesis was the Neolithic Revolution!

The 7 "Days" of Creation (including His 1 Day of Rest) were actually 7000 years, add that to the current 6000 Years of the Hebrew Calender dating Genesis to the Present, and you have 12,000 - 14,000 years! Right smack in the middle of the Neolithic Revolution, when the "Homo Sapien" species learned how to... "grow a brain"!

Come on guys, this is a big deal, the U.N. wants to enforce a new Global Tax on the United States because it is "too wealthy" while other, poorer countries, are apparently suffering because of it...

They want to take the wealth of the U.S. away from it, and "redistribute it" to those poorer countries!

There needs to be a bigger tax on billionaires.

No one should be allowed to be that rich in a world where toddlers die of starvation tied to poles in the blazing heat.

I don't think any person, entity or corporation should be allowed to make more than 5 to 10 million a year net, possibly less. Any overage should be given to (a hopefully reformed and trustworthy) government for savings and intelligent spending.

How many of us would be able to become well off in small business and other endeavors if we didn't have these global corporate conglomerates hogging up all the business?

How competitive would prices be if there were more real competition?

How many quality jobs would we generate if we had so many businesses independently fighting to hire us?

How many people could we pull out of poverty if the wealth were available to more people rather than the chosen few?

OP,

You are correct this is a dangerous mindset of global entities demanding tax money for some fake goal much as the global warning crap championed by Al Gore designed to meet the Agenda 21 and the goal of generating money through carbon taxes.

The World Health Organization pet project Codex Alimentarius threatens our lives by controlling what we eat and drug to be decided by this dubious organization.

The World Health Organization announced that it was seeking to impose a cigarette tax upon the world.

Without out a doubt Australia is beginning to realize that, they have unleashed a growing taxation problem by embracing the carbon tax scheme.

It is time to make obsolete the UN, WHO and IMF for starters s they are nothing more than leeches upon all the countries that stupidly fund them.

This is a good idea. There are 47% of the people not paying taxes and we could tax them to give to other countries that don't pay any tax to the U.N.

What is the problem with that?

What an awful idea. All that's going to happen is billionaires will relocate to Russia or China and use the Ruble or Yuan for transactions to avoid these taxes. Also, all these extra taxes for carbon emissions and mining will end up in added costs to consumers. If you think the price of your energy is high now, wait until after this gets passed. None of the money collected in tax revenues would be used to help those truly in need anyway. This extra tax money will just be squandered like it is everywhere else. Personally, I'm tired of turning on the television and hearing about how government used money to either A) drop bombs on people B) used money to host meetings in Hawaii or C) invested the money in one of their crony's companies like Solyndra.

I saw someone claim "no one should be allowed to make more than five million a year" in this thread. I fully understand the hatred for multinational corporations, businesses that got bailed out like Bank of America and people who did nothing to earn their wealth but merely inherited it. The fact is that most wealthy people actually did earn their money. Most business owners were "exploited" (worked for low wages because they had no skills whatsoever) themselves until they saved up enough money to start their own business. From there, these business owners risked their life savings and worked 16+ hour days for years. Successful business owners didn't just play it safe like their employees who didn't risk any of their savings, only show up for work between 9-5, take a leisure hour for lunch, and head home with a guaranteed paycheck. If someone becomes successful by hard work, dedication and sacrifice we should salute them, not tear them down because we are envious.

Re: Breaking - U.N. Taking up issue of "Redistribution of Wealth" - Considering a Global Tax on Rich Nations, targetting the U.S. as "too w

Sadly, you are living in a dream world. Money does not solve the word's poverty or crimes that occur. Just look at the U.S., even people who live here and make a decent living are subjected to crime, greed, etc. Probably 25% of the entire U.S. population completely lives off (& enjoys it as their lifestyle) of others -such as welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, subsizided heatining, free cell phones, all sorts of breaks. Money doesn't fix the heart or initiative in people - that comes from within.

That said, I think the solution should not be to tax the rich but to streamline the economy. Simplify the tax code so there are so many loopholes that only the rich can find and utilize. Simplify the rules for starting and running a business, so people can complete.

As for third world countries, they - like the U.S. and every other country should aim to become as independent of other nations as possible - a type of isolationism. Then local economies boom and people have jobs, hope and everyone benefits.

Your ideal of pulling people out of poverty by giving them money won't work, it just makes people more dependent -- look at all the young women in the U.S. who keep having baby after baby after baby with different baby daddies -- why? Because they are given money -- they are not made to take responsibility for themselves.

Fair trade - not free trade would benefit everyone.

Ya really can't explain the facts of life to an idiot like this, that thinks that trickle-up poverty, is better than trickle-down prosperity, because the rich fuggers on MSNBC told it so...
