OP, what did you do with the moth's remains?

A good idea would be to put him in the soup, and be nourished by his earthly shell. His soul has flown away, his remains are a gift to the garden of our Earth. He has left the cradle and the nursery behind.

OP, it's called Empathy, and you are probably an empath, the most advanced mind of any Human. Relish it, and try to do good for all animals and insects, whenever the opportunity arises. Become an ethical vegan (like me), if you aren't already.

Don't listen to those who insult you, or tell you you're "depressed". These people are too ignorant to see the light, and lack both intellect, and emotion.

Re: i just wept over watching a moth die
it had landed in some water and one of its wings was practically destroyed. it was making a pathetic attempt to fly, batting its wings and slowly crawling along. i put my finger in front of it and it crawled onto it, and it seemed to look at me as if asking for help, then it fell to the ground and stopped moving. tears formed in my eyes and i began to weep.

is it a sign of an underlying mental issue to have such strong emotions over an insect?

No. It is a sign of kindness, compassion, and humanity. When I was dating my husband, I noticed how he took care of his dog. He was so affectioate with him, and always put his needs above his own. That's how I knew he would be a good father to our children.

Today things are changing at a very high rate. You are being woken up to the fact that all life is just as important as any other life. A bug in the eyes of a bug is important and plays a huge roll in this entire "system." You are feeling the true connectedness of it all. You and that bug can share love...and you can feel sorrow for the loss of that little guy too. Just as much as a person. We are at a point that more people need to think like this. We need to realize just how important all life is!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10883673

I think the OP needs to not get so emotionally traumatized by everyday occurrences in nature. He would literally go mental if he had that kind of empathy for all living things.

Some things are out of our control. We don't need to put that on ourselves.

It is a sign that you are a beautiful soul. Don't worry what others think of your beautiful heart. Be happy with who you are...

Peace my friend.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9888565

Yep. That is 100 percent accurate. I was there with you as i read your description. I have done it too, though no tears. Definitely had eye contact and understanding. But then again, some people try and make roadkill... For sport. So dont take negative comments to heart, they just may think that a moth is too low a being to consider. Especially, since trying to help doesnt cost much. Except awareness of things around you.

It's an allegory.

You are the moth. You've fallen into the water and can't get out under your own power. God pulls you out and you look at him still unable to change your ways. And you die.

Or it's just a moth that was dying.

no. i once cried watching a video of a praying mantis crawling across someone's yard, and it didn't even die. it was just a moment of awareness of the cycle of life repeating through all species, and the ultimate pathos and futile dignity of trying to survive.

It has nothing to do with compassion for the moth.

You apparently have unresolved emotional issues.

I cried when my next door neighbor had her 200 yr old plus tree cut down because a tree had fallen due to a lightening strike somewhere else in the neighborhood.

It was a senseless killing

The tree was not diseased and there was no reason to kill it

The responses on this thread are interesting. It's about a 50/50 or 40/60 split between those who value life and those who only value their own lives or the lives of the people they have emotional attachments to.... which is really only another way of expressing their own selfish love.

I've often been suspect of how many actual humans truly remain in this realm.

Child looks at a simple flower and is amazed, adult comes by says that’s just a dandelion it is a weed and ugly.

It is about perception, you looked and understood it was alive then it was not, you saw death and the struggle leading up to that death.

To bad somthing did not eat it, would have been a nice meal for a bird or bat.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

Thank you OP for not being dead inside and for still being able to see the world in all its parts and to experience your emotions and express them. And for feeling for the poor moth, you are a nice person.

God knows the world is a horror show of brutality, the way we destroy things and run animals through machinery.

The world needs more compassion.
"How can the breakaway civilization operate with impunity? There is a vast secrecy about outer space and inner space. Inner space is consciousness. Eight billion people have to have their inner space shut down, through mind control, so that the outer space program can be kept secret.

Divorcing inner and outer space from each other is the core goal of all elites. It always has been. My commitment is to ending the divorce. Then we would be privy to an astounding kind of knowledge. Not just new information, but a new kind of information. We would see with new eyes." - Jon Rappoport

This is a troll thread. A moth will never fall off your finger and die unless you sprayed it with raid.

Here is an example of some of OP's threads and replies.
