Message Subject i just wept over watching a moth die

it had landed in some water and one of its wings was practically destroyed. it was making a pathetic attempt to fly, batting its wings and slowly crawling along. i put my finger in front of it and it crawled onto it, and it seemed to look at me as if asking for help, then it fell to the ground and stopped moving. tears formed in my eyes and i began to weep.

Is it a sign of an underlying mental issue to have such strong emotions over an insect?

I think it's an underlying empathetic issue. :)
It's always sad and difficult to watch a living being die, especially when you are personally involved.. (you were, as it crawled onto your finger)

Take heart OP, you are a wonderfully empathetic person. This world needs more empathetic people.
