These reactors are located from coast to coast. The problem is with the water system...(cooler) That is a major flaw. I just thought people would want to know.. |

Management is saying no radiation was leaked and everything is "fine" I'm not buying though. |

I will share the mutual credit on this....I really just wanted people to listen and then discuss the show but people wouldn't. This works just as well. I am glad people are paying attention any way!!! There was so much interesting info about the sites discussed (actually John didn't talk at all hardly it was mostly Ann M.) Good show though, I have only listened a couple of times but I am glad I did this time. Very dangerous and we never hear anything about these things. It could have totally melted down and we would never know.... |

If a fuel rod can "melt" through several inches of concrete, couldn't it also move through rock and other debris in the Earth???? Possibly contaminating water, etc... The melted fuel becomes 'corium'. This is an amalgamation of any material the super-heated melted-core material comes in contact with. Corium temps. can be 5000F. Theoretically, and with some basis in scientific experimentation, the corium will have a shell or crust which alternately scabs over and then cracks open. This crust defeats any internal cooling of the corium with boron and is too hot to cool with water. It vaporizes before contact. When it reaches the point where the temperature lowers and impurities increase enough to slow the process, at that point it will remain in stasis in the ground. How deep it gets is anybody's guess... No one can approach it and live. Average core has around 800 assemblies and weighs 150 tons. |
