I was raising a bright child--the most socially productive work I've ever done and much more productive than so many people who clog the rush hour expressway every day. Society doesn't NEED more telemarketers or fry cooks or salesmen. We do need more mothers who prefer being with their children to messing around with their friends at work. And let's face it, a lot of workplaces are just adult day care where women go to hang out with their friends and spend half their take home on Starbucks. There's nothing to be proud of in bringing home a paycheck. Its not socially productive. I was worth more working at home cooking food stamp food. I was worth more raising a child who pays more in taxes than we ate in foodstamps. Anyone who fosters children gets food stamps. So do people who care for ill or elderly parents. We should reserve our shame and pride for something more important than how much money we have. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10957384 United States 09/29/2012 08:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My last paycheck had a gross amount of over $1,200 After taxes and child support and alimony and union dues and SS payment,I had a net of $40.00. I make too much to get an EBT card. If I had one it wouldn't bother me at all. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1400747 Fuck you OP and your little bait thread too. Good decision to have a child. You obviously can't support one. Even better decision to get married lol. Full of win you are. |
