I've drank 2 kinds. the juice kind and the Inner Fillet kind.

The inner fillet juice is bitter tasting and better added to glass of juice.

it has mega vitamins and minerals.

Aloe vera contains 18 amino acids, plus Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, and E. It also contains sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and chloride, as well as traces of magnesium and zinc. In addition to these major constituents, aloe vera contains numerous other naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.

I buy this one [link to www.nationalnutrition.ca] good info about aloe vera juice benefits

Re: Aloe vera juice
I don't drink it, but I have a few times in the past.

I use it externally, it's good all over.

And handy for minor burns too.

Re: Aloe vera juice
good for skin(burns etc as MO said, sunburn and just general skin food)internally-and externally

also good for helping heal bad gums, gingivitis, mouth ulcers etc

more helpful for irritable bowel ,coeliacs, constipation(loaded with fibre)and gut/intesinal stuff and also reduces bloat and for women that experience bloat at that time of the month.

i started using it after a bad case of food poisoning, and use it for multiple things now.

I was at the point where I was going to either go get some prilosec OTC or go to the doctor about my severe heartburn / discomfort / nasuea issues. Probably from all the crap I eat & drink.

I wanted to try a more natural approach 1st.

A week's worth of drinking about 12 oz of aloe vera juice daily has restored my stomach/gut issues to back when in my early 20s. It's truly a miracle plant. I haven't felt better in my life.

We grow it at home.

Re: Aloe vera juice
Does anyone know how long the gel lasts in the fridge after you open it? I bought a gallon of Lily of the Desert gel. I thought I would like it because I love aloe vera juice. But I gag on the gel no matter what I try to do with it.

It is about 3 weeks old now... still good?

Anybody have any ideas on how to make it palatable?

I tried LOTS of honey in it just yesterday but could not make myself swallow it. It's nasssty.

i grow the plant for stuff like burns and skin stuff but i buy an aussie brand juice for drinking.I just looked and all mine says is refridgerate after opening, and a general use-by date.I usually have about 1/8th of a glass a day either straight or mixed with cranberry juice and the bottle lasts about2-3 weeks, so ive never really worried about it going off, and it doesnt seem to say use within 5 days etc so im assuming it keeps well.

Re: Aloe vera juice
Too much like a hand lotion to eat.

We can get those nutrients from other actual foods. If aloe was a superfood then that would be different by it is not.

If I was in the desert and very hungry I would eat it rex

Thanks. I have no idea whether I could tell if it was "off," because truly it already tastes like it is. I will try it in cranberry juice tomorrow. None of the smoothy drink recipes at the other link posted above sounded very appetizing. If the cranberry doesn't help it go down easier, I will probably just use the remainder of the gallon for skin treatments/face masks.

I should add, i get the flavoured one, and have three cap fulls a day. Just take out of fridge, fill up cap and neck it. It works for me very well.

no prob-maybe try find the juice next time rather than the gel-im sure its not as overpowering in taste as what ur describing, and its watery in consistency.

Re: Aloe vera juice
we just started on it, my husband and I. The benefits sound wonderful I'm just a little scared because of course there are some conflicting things you read about it. There have been some cases supposedly reported around the world of inflamed liver causing hepatitis after 2 weeks of use. I would die if I harmed my husband trying to make him healthier. I also hope it will reduce his cholesterol without the need for those nasty statins and I've read it can help up to 30% . We are only going to take 2ounces- does anyone take it every day for exyending periods of time? How much and how long have you been on it? Thanks!!
