I had watched the movie 'Magdelene Sisters' a few years ago....I think it had been on cable. Had no idea that this had happened and researched it.

Pretty horrible living conditions.

The movie looks at 4 different girls, how they came to be at the convent, and a great deal of what they endured while there. It is a bit disturbing to watch. Not just because of the abuse, but also for the humiliation these girls suffered through.
