There is one reason I think doom will happen.

There is hardly any investment in infrastructure.

In the USA you have all these failing water, steam and gas pipes.

In the UK the roads are falling apart but they are just patched up. No new roads are been built, they are just widening the existing ones by using the emergency hard shoulder.

There seems to be no more long term planning, is it just financial greed or foresight?

I also wonder about multiculturalism, is it been used for diversifying the gene pool if a certain part of the world was wiped out?

OP what do you think about a sudden (few years) ice age?

I am sure of one thing- As a mother I love my three children more than anything. I am only just waking up to the state this world is really in.
If I had known what I know now, I would never have had my children.... I love them so much it pains me to realise that they are going to suffer...without a doubt this world is going to get worse and worse.
Maybe not in one instant like the doom some are waiting for....but it is happening like a slow and deadly cancer.
Ten years ago when my Grandfather said my daughter was beautiful but he would not have had children in todays day and age....I thought he was a little over the top to say the least. But now, I see what he meant.

I have a basement full of guns, bullets, bullion, and a ton of expired tuna, spaghetti sauce, etc that can't be eaten. Costco made a tone of cash off of me.

Now I waste my money on drugs to escape reality.

That certainly would be DOOM for most of the global population.

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
If you're waiting for doom with faith, create your own doom.

Just grab your prep bags and move the fuck out into the wild country.

Losing faith on the death of millions and contaminated air, water and food source is not a good way to start a new life, but if YOU move by choice, you might find a beautiful life ahead.

You DON'T NEED DOOM. You need courage to take the step by yourself.

Doom as an excuse is a terribly egotistical mindset.

this is exactly what's behind all of these doom disappointment threads. they wanted doom to set them free. WTF psychosis is that? medicated and domesticated sheep are willing to take on EQ's and tsunamis but not fat cops. hmmm. really? you do not need to even go into the US woods, just get out of the US and most of the concentration camp goes too. but they are too scared. see this same shit on GLP. and people re not in charge of all this doom anyway. i think most of the true aware move on after realizing the truth as the stupid and deliberate mind control on this site becomes too much.

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
Thing is most people want doom because life is too easy or they feel stuck in a rut and don't know how to change it.

Why not put the efforts you have into Doom prepping and instead put them into something else. Something non mainstream.

Opt out of the system or opt further into it through activism.

Meh it's your life.

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
When I was a boy my father taught me one of the best faith-lessons I have ever learned. “Son, the hardest part of faith is always the last half hour. When you feel like giving up; when you feel that your life is off track; when you don’t hear from God anymore, just hold on — because the last half hour is the hardest part of faith.”

Have you ever driven on a long journey? You go hundreds of miles and the trip is going just fine. Finally you see a sign that says your destination is just 30 miles down the road. That last 30 miles can seem almost as long as the 500 miles you have just traveled. The last half hour of a journey is sometimes the hardest because you’re almost there and you have to hold on just a little longer.

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised” (Hebrews 10:36, ESV).

I know some of you feel like giving up but I want to encourage you to hold on just a little longer. You feel like the dream is not going to come to reality but God is saying to you, “Just hold on, child. Hold on, church. Hold on a few more minutes. Hold on a few more weeks — because your victory is just around the corner!”

I cannot tell you how many people I have met who had a word from God but the answer was slow in coming, they abandoned hope and now are living a life of mediocrity. If they had held on just a little longer, all the things God had spoken would have come true. But they have withdrawn from faith; withdrawn from valor; withdrawn from vision and purpose. They are living a life of quiet desperation because they no longer trust God or believe Him for great things. They are moving in their own strength without the power of God.

Do not give up hope. God is saving the best for last!

That's great advice awesome story!

To the op, I'd be less concerned with the 2012 legends and more concerned with reality of what is happening in the world today. The United States is falling apart. We are approaching a turning point in history. Do not let your guard down but rather re focus your understanding as to what is really happening.

I can't speak for the God stuff ( against or for ) but one thing I can say it mentally and spiritually you can feel something is coming. Do not deny those intuitions because they are correct.

Stay prepared and re focus!

Prepping is NOT from faith. It is from fear. Jesus said those who try to save their lives will loose them, and those who loose their lives for His sake will save them.

It is a completely fear based selfish response to the upcoming judgements in Revelation.

Imagine your were a prepper near Fukushima. What good is all that irradiated food doing for you now? This is coming to the USA, and all your preps will be worthless.

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
Here it is October 1st 2012. Since 2005 when I became interested in the whole 2012 prophecy phenomenon I figured by now (October 1st, 2012) the shit would be hitting the fan in ways we had never imagined.

I figured by now I'd be done with the rat race, and would be living at my camp, making my final push for winter supplies while the world was in chaos.

I figured people would have started panicing by August, and it would have spread globally by now.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

So I'm preppd. I have everything I need, but I'm really strongly leaning in the direction that nothing is going to happen...at all.

There is nothing happening in the world that spells DOOM. Nothing that is so far out of the ordinary (financial termoil, fighting in the Middle East and Africa etc...).
Heading into solar max...no real problems here.
Just the same ol' same ol'.

So I confess now that I no longer believe that anything will happen on December 21, 2012 that is out of the ordinary.

Sure I'm still keeping an eye out, always will most likely, but not with the same intensity as I have been.

My theory: We will go out with a whimper, not a bang. For the U.S. in particular, it's going to be a gradual take-over by the Chinese and other asians.

In 100 years you will not recognize this country. Well ... in 100 years you'll be dead but you get my point.

My husband and I recently stopped into a local golf & country club (to grab a soda ... we were on a bike ride). Almost EVERYONE there was Asian, and they were not speaking english. Later we drove slowly down a street in a popular local restaurant district. Same thing.

By the end of the day it was like ... "Hey, there's a white family!"
