Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
Here it is October 1st 2012. Since 2005 when I became interested in the whole 2012 prophecy phenomenon I figured by now (October 1st, 2012) the shit would be hitting the fan in ways we had never imagined.

I figured by now I'd be done with the rat race, and would be living at my camp, making my final push for winter supplies while the world was in chaos.

I figured people would have started panicing by August, and it would have spread globally by now.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

So I'm preppd. I have everything I need, but I'm really strongly leaning in the direction that nothing is going to happen...at all.

There is nothing happening in the world that spells DOOM. Nothing that is so far out of the ordinary (financial termoil, fighting in the Middle East and Africa etc...).
Heading into solar max...no real problems here.
Just the same ol' same ol'.

So I confess now that I no longer believe that anything will happen on December 21, 2012 that is out of the ordinary.

Sure I'm still keeping an eye out, always will most likely, but not with the same intensity as I have been.

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
When I was a boy my father taught me one of the best faith-lessons I have ever learned. “Son, the hardest part of faith is always the last half hour. When you feel like giving up; when you feel that your life is off track; when you don’t hear from God anymore, just hold on — because the last half hour is the hardest part of faith.”

Have you ever driven on a long journey? You go hundreds of miles and the trip is going just fine. Finally you see a sign that says your destination is just 30 miles down the road. That last 30 miles can seem almost as long as the 500 miles you have just traveled. The last half hour of a journey is sometimes the hardest because you’re almost there and you have to hold on just a little longer.

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised” (Hebrews 10:36, ESV).

I know some of you feel like giving up but I want to encourage you to hold on just a little longer. You feel like the dream is not going to come to reality but God is saying to you, “Just hold on, child. Hold on, church. Hold on a few more minutes. Hold on a few more weeks — because your victory is just around the corner!”

I cannot tell you how many people I have met who had a word from God but the answer was slow in coming, they abandoned hope and now are living a life of mediocrity. If they had held on just a little longer, all the things God had spoken would have come true. But they have withdrawn from faith; withdrawn from valor; withdrawn from vision and purpose. They are living a life of quiet desperation because they no longer trust God or believe Him for great things. They are moving in their own strength without the power of God.

Do not give up hope. God is saving the best for last!

"Doom prepping" is now a dying meme.

It was just another hoax to spur Americans to buy more shit to help boost the economy.

Ive said this a few times on this forum. When I was a kid(60s), my dad's good friend told me the end of the world was coming. He didnt have a son, so we were close. When he died(80s), his wife gave me all his survival stuff. It was so old and rotted and unusable, I just carried it all to the dump. That is where all your stuff will eventually go.

I am in the same boat. I am so exhausted of trying to sift thru the bull on these sites to reveal the real. Truth, but I am beginning to believe that life will go on and that there is not going to be catastrophic event. I hate to hear my hubby telling me I told you so but I need to face the reality that I was wrong about "doomsday".
I am glad that I am wrong actually but never the less I wasted so much time prepping.

My theory: We will go out with a whimper, not a bang. For the U.S. in particular, it's going to be a gradual take-over by the Chinese and other asians.

In 100 years you will not recognize this country. Well ... in 100 years you'll be dead but you get my point.

My husband and I recently stopped into a local golf & country club (to grab a soda ... we were on a bike ride). Almost EVERYONE there was Asian, and they were not speaking english. Later we drove slowly down a street in a popular local restaurant district. Same thing.

By the end of the day it was like ... "Hey, there's a white family!"

You feel that way because you've spent too much time on GLP and you've been misinformed as to how this disaster would happen in the first place.

You've psyched yourself out, for lack of a better term.

This is a process.. The world doesn't just start getting 9.0 earthquakes like
Solar Guardian says in his thread. The temperature doesn't just suddenly go to 90 degrees in November like anonymous astrophysicist says in his ridiculous thread.

Your expectations have been programmed, subconsciously by crap you've read on GLP, which is what is causing your doubts.

For better info as to what is happening, go to bendinglight's thread about buoy activity and earthquakes. It's a gradual process that will get much worse very quickly when the SHTF. But after six years of listening to people like John Moore and Lucus and Terral and Wilcock and reading thousands of threads on GLP, you've psyched yourself out.

It's coming, but I doubt your preps will make a difference. When it hits, you'll probably just die. Which is better. You can't survive a pile shift or an interstellar energy cloud once the crisis hits full throttle

If you're waiting for doom with faith, create your own doom.

Just grab your prep bags and move the fuck out into the wild country.

Losing faith on the death of millions and contaminated air, water and food source is not a good way to start a new life, but if YOU move by choice, you might find a beautiful life ahead.

You DON'T NEED DOOM. You need courage to take the step by yourself.

Doom as an excuse is a terribly egotistical mindset.
