Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24751546 No it won't BUT if and when they do search your home/office computers and they do not find it on there it will look better for you. Hell you may not even get charged. - Sara gimme a break, they gonna arrest half the world? yea, they are only looking for BIG players, those who have 100gb+ in actual bittorrent clients. If you are just a downloader you probably have nothing to worry about. I'm not worried... |

Quoting: Saratonin - Sara in order to be safe, you have to do a deep level-3 FORMAT, take the hard-drive out, beat it with a sledgehammer, and then trow it in the bottom of the lake. and, then, you have to go back and scrub all the ghosts out of all the rest of the chips in your computer. it's really just easier to just turn yourself in to the nearest FBI office, and things will go easier on you. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1310816 United States 10/01/2012 10:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pirate Bay Down Due to Power Failure ErnestoOctober 1, 201221 pirate bay downPrint The Pirate Bay is down at the moment, so naturally people start to get worried. Every time the site goes offline for a few minutes thousands of people start to worry that something awful has happened to their beloved site. Luckily, this is usually not the case. When the site’s not responding someone probably tripped over a cable, they’re working on software upgrades, replacing hardware or facing another technical difficulty. TorrentFreak contacted the Pirate Bay team and we were told that the current downtime is cause by a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) failure. It may take a while before the site returns, When there’s an update we’ll post something here. [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] DON'T BELIEVE A DAMN WORD YOU READ ON THIS WEBSITE! Anonymous Coward User ID: 14011374 United States 10/01/2012 10:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anyone still using torrents is a fool. They don't come after you for downloading the data, it is distributing the data that causes them to come after you. The smart pirates moved on, or never left, news groups. The news groups usually have movies and does before the torrent sites anyway, and since you are only download you have less to worry about for now. In fact, if your ISP has a news group server and you get posted info from their server, they are the ones actually distributing the data, so a legal defense MIGHT be able to be built around that, if you have a good enough lawyer. Lol. |

If that is what you rather believe... - Sara I have never been to that site because I was always worried that files contained viruses, but if I did go that website I would rather believe Sara then it just being a power failure, it's better to be safe then sorry. delete delete delete!! lol. |

The only reason they would come for you is if they already had the evidence from your ISP and the traffic data showing you were sharing pirated data. Lol. The government looks for people uploading child porn and/or illegal information (classified). Large corporations who own the rights are the ones they are going after. Mostly people that are uploading or sharing the files. Demonoid was taken down recently without ANY notice or without any take down notice posted. Pirate Bay is NOT coming back. It will be just like Demonoid. Anonymous Coward User ID: 24474765 United States 10/01/2012 11:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Whatever you all do, KEEP THE DAMN FILES! Put them on external drives, make multiple backup copies, get them offsite in triple sealed ammo cans, and keep copies offline. Some of the files on TPB were total trash, but many are valuable information and understanding that needs to be preserved beyond our current crisis point in history. Redundancy is the only legitimate solution. If they're not rotating, they are safe for a few years. If they are offline, they can be used safely. Just make sure copies of everything valuable are NOT connected to the net. You may or may not want to scrub the files on your current online system. That's a choice. We must fight back against those who would put us in a small box and leave us there. Freedom is everything. Freedom is the only thing. Get real folks - these people are trying to take our humanity away and leave us as servants. Sara gave is a valuable head's up, but her approach is too compliant. NEVER COMPLY - always do something useful and unexpected. All of this was financed by special interests and the morans in DC are the shills for them. Do your best to promote free info. Pay the authors as you wish and if/when you wish, but KEEP THE DATA! Ramify it to the point that it can't be eliminated. And above all - have fun! Fear is the mindkiller, and the last 12 years have been all about fear. Let it go and pick a better emotion. |
