...

How could you recognize them as Ta'veren?
 Quoting: Jonny Blaze

Generally they are not to recognize themselves ahead of time. Those who do shouldn't be the type to go around boasting about it. You could say there are always more 'on deck,' like a very robust fail-safe mechanism.

It is... unnerving, to say the least, when one realizes as a child that a simple intention can affect those around.
 Quoting: The Gallows

But how could you tell a Ta'veren what they should and shouldn't do?

Isn't that the point of it all? The wheel weaves as the wheel will's and all.

A Ta'veren destiny is fixed. At least, that's the concept. Such a person has little room to maneuver. That person has a path that they must walk. The only challenge being how far they can go.

By the way, when you type Ta'veren and see the red wavy line underneath it...the spell check suggestion is 'Reverent'.
 Quoting: Jonny Blaze

I dont think it is "fixed". Free will still exists. Not to mention, I think every possible option of human history is happening/happened at the same time our history happens.

In one timeline G.W. Bush was a great president. In another Abraham Lincoln let slavery live on. etc.

Every timeline/option "lays on top" of our current time line.

IMHO.

How could you recognize them as Ta'veren?

REPOST, I broke my quote.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23910073

To answer your question: I couldn't.
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

Re: Ta'veren - a person around whom the Pattern of the World structures itself
It sounds like they are describing the Avatars, but they would be incorrect in saying they are "made not born that way."

Avatars incarnate in ages when there chaos and darkness prevail. They restore order. There are several very powerful Avatars walking among us today. They change things. They do so effortlessly, with the slightest of intention (yes, it's controllable by Them) dropped into the Ocean of Awareness.

These are the Enlightened Ones from birth. They reestablish dharma (righteousness) when darkness begins to prevail. They bring balance to all kingdoms -- plant, animal, human, insect, mineral, etc.

We all have the ability to be a so-called Ta'veren to some extent if we can surrender our egos, but not like These Ones who are born with this purpose. They are powerful beyond all measure. We'll never be truly like Them as They are manifestations of Life Itself without ever having had the veil of ego/illusion covering Them. They have absolutely zero limits. And, they are very, very Real. I've met two of Them that I know of, though it could have easily been more than two if They didn't want me to know who They were.

Free will can be argued all day long. Depends on one's point of view. It is pointless to get into the argument either for or against free will ultimately. Better to realize what lies Beyond both free will and predetermination (i.e. beyond the ego/mind).

Yes, many possible timelines, just as there are infinite possibilities in night dreams. All possible, none of them real. Hence, the reason I put "reality" in quotes in my first post.

Again, I don't know if they are Ta'veren, though the description sounds similar in some ways. If you ask me how you can recognize an Avatar, you can only do so if They want you to recognize Them, which also has to do with your karma. Again, free will vs. no free will is dependent upon perspective. Karma would say it wasn't free will, yet an Avatar choosing to reveal Themselves to you would indicate it was. Better to not even get into the argument. We live in a relative "reality". It's not the Ultimate. It's a game of sorts. A hologram. A projection of mind that can change as beliefs change.

Better to just wake up to the REALITY (no quotes) behind the "reality" (with quotes).

Everyone emits an energy field, everyone affects the world. Some will have elevated access codes, and will probably be so thoroughly disinterested in modern society that finding one could be quite the ordeal.

I'm not absolutely sure that I do. I'm not sure that such a thing exists or is possible.

I originally asked the question on this thread to determine if someone else could 'see' such a thing.

The reason I asked is because I don't have that ability. And I asked because I acknowledge that others might.

So it was, for my part, an honest question.

I have read those books last one due out in March.

There are many many with varying degrees of pull that come here, and glp know it.

If all those with pull many on this thread ;) point their focus in the same direction magic can happen.

Yes. And then fights will break out on the board about what happened, why it happened, if it was appropriate, if it was ethical, etc.

The best fantasy series ever written. Better the Lord of the Rings or anything else.

Yes, dragons and false dragons. And not all "false dragons" are bad. Some are needed in order to make the "transition".

I have read the series 3 times. Fantastic books.

And I agree, some serious masonic imagery/symbolism in those books.

Eveything that was will come to be again. The wheel of time, the serpent eating its tail.

I actually like Brandon Sanderson. I think he brings a touch to the books that RJ would have really enjoyed.

Just to get two individuals to agree to focus on whatever is desired is easier said than done let alone the average of 1500 users at a time on here.

it is about focused intent IMHO but to get others to 1 believe they can 2 find others who also believe 3 all agree to focus on said subject meme item outcome etc for set time the entire group focus, we could change the pattern.

As it stands now it is done subliminally so a lot of us are working our pull for someone else.

Sucks us.
