Doom & Gloomer / Conspiracy Nut / The challenges of being Married to those not inclined to think this way. TIPS PLEASE????
I have only quite recently found this site. However, I have had conspiracy tendencies for quite some time. Due to the ramping up of all things conspiratorial.. I am definitely getting the urge to stock up on items and have my bug out plan in operative form. We live in a city and I plan to leave at the first sign of SHTF.. taking my 4 yorkies with me and heading 3 hours north to my daughters in a much less populated area.

My husband of 9 years..(we're older, 2nd marriage) and he's also 13 years older than myself, thinks I'm crazy and tells me so on a somewhat regular basis. I'm also a negative person, doom and gloomer, drama queen etc. As long as the stock market is doing well, he's a happy camper. I shared some info with him last week and later that day we got into an arguement and he called me all sorts of degrading names. This happens fairly frequently.. Once or twice a month. I just stay in my room and ignore him as I am so tired of listening to him tell me how stupid I am I could scream. Our arguements aren't always over "doom and gloom". I am a Christian .. he considers himself one also but thinks "the rapture is doom & gloom also.

I have always been fairly "different" in my thinking. I don't have a problem going against the socially, politically or spiritual current. I don't have a lot of friends (3 sisters) and have never felt the need to surround myself with such.

Are there any other people like me out there with spouses who have their heads in the sand? How do you handle it?
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I Corinthians 2:14

God doesn't choose favorites.. They choose HIM

It is not the greatness of my faith that moves mountains but my faith in the greatness of God

I think everyone is going through a period of awakening, and the truth will be easier for all to see. Be patient with your husband. Sometimes it is tougher to hear the truth from those closest to use. Sometimes life experiences teach us better than another person. You know what your life is telling you. Let him decide on his own what is truth without arguing.
You should not allow another person to disrespect you. It sounds like perhaps he is degrading to you regardless of the topic. It may be time to evaluate what the relationship is going to do for you.
Maybe going to your daughters is a plan without him included?

Here is what I did. I stopped talking about it and just went ahead with my prepping. I felt less anxious and my wife actually found that she liked having a well stocked pantry. She even started buying in bulk herself.
