Anonymous Coward User ID: 1708283 United States 10/01/2012 06:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, have been so fortunate to meet my other half, who lives in The United States... Quoting: 141 My wish is to move there, as soon as possible Have been looking at different sites of information, but am not all sure of how it all come together... So if anyone happens to know about stuff, like getting a visa to stay, achieving a work permit and such, I would be most grateful... Here in Denmark, where I have lived all my life, I work pay tax and all of that, and would just love to be a part of the community over there in a natural way... In advance thanks for the help :o) We're full, sorry. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22017972 United States 10/01/2012 06:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why would you leave your heavenly Denmark for the shoddy raft called the US. Trust me I live hear, its wonderful in many many ways, but its seriously in trouble. The other half would be better served living with you in your native beauty. If you must you must, but warnings cant be said strongly enough, its nearly beyond repair hear. Look at www.uscis.gov that should get the ball rolling for you. You can always do what my German ex did just stayed for a solid year to test the waters then go home for a year then return for a year. Not a problem they only keep tabs on us citizens the rest can almost run in and out at will as long as you dont seek major employment that requires taxes and such, under the table work will keep you here during the process. She would have stayed permanantly but we didnt work out so she went back home and personally she and I still talk alot and she is better for it, she saw the rot in full effect. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 858876 United States 10/01/2012 06:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The easier alternative is to come over on a tourist visa and marry your "other half" and start the citizenship process. A "green card" is the start then three years later you could become a US citizen. <<< Getting a family-based Green Card is a two-step process. The first step is the "Immigrant Petition" which establishes that a qualifying relationship exists between the U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and the Green Card applicant. The second step is the Green Card application. If the sponsor is a U.S. Citizen and the Green Card applicant is a spouse, parent or minor child who is currently in the U.S., then these two steps can usually be combined into one. Otherwise, applicants must wait for the Immigrant Petition to be approved before they can move on to the Green Card application. >>> [link to www.immigrationdirect.com] |

It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |

But, the Mexicans are even going home... if that tells you about the state of affairs here. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow." |

OP, not sure, but if I remember correctly (a friend also brought someone here to live a long time ago), and I think the visa was good for one year and they got married in that year & visa was converted to a more permanent status. I could call her & ask but it was long enough ago that laws might have changed. I also remember something about if he had come here for school the original visa was for longer. But he decided not to go back to school. I also remember something about she had to be responsible for him. Trying to remember more details, sorry. Have your friend you are moving here for call for you. What state are you moving to? Hope it works out well for you & welcome! |

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |
