I did, but it took a few more years for me to understand his warning.
I'm a Libertarian Constitutionalist.

I don't give a shit what you do with your own life, whether you make it a success or a failure, that is an outcome of the choices you make, but please take responsibility for yourself and don't make ME pay for YOUR choices and we're all good.

It's a flower, not something to be feared.

Gotta admit he appears to have been correct about NAFTA and GATT.
But I voted for Clinton both times because I was desperate to keep the republikans the fuck out of the WH.

Ross Perot dug up dirt on George Bush Sr.( real name Scherf and was high ranking among the 3rd Reich) when Reagan gave him a top security clearance to find POW's in Nam. Bush discovered that Ross found out about the drugs and other crimes Bush was implicated in and Bush ordered Chip Tatum to "Neutralize" him. Ross got paranoid and disappeared from the election scene after Chip told him of the plan. Check out Chip Tatum on you tube. You can forget about the masses waking up so don't even try or bother. Just ammo up and hold your nose.

Somebody read the USA Today this morning.

Good ol Ross had his face plastered on the front page with the lead;
Ross Perot: The U.S. is headed for 'disaster'.
20 years after he upended the presidential race, the Texas billionaire is painfully vindicated as the nation is still hemorrhaging red ink.

Indeed, looks like he was right. I still recall him standing there with his charts and his drawl, using his pointer to teach. Sad that nobody took him seriously, most likely for no other reason than his accent made him sound backwoods.

Yes, and 20 years from now, people will be recalling the same things that Ron Paul is saying today.

Meanwhile we'll have a Republicrat in office, and be 16 more trillion in debt trying to clean up the pieces from the economic collapse and depression that the U.S. will still be trying to dig out of.

I remember back 20 years ago thinking that we were doomed when NAFTA passed. I just could not believe people would fall for that crap. I voted for Ross, and still have one of his T Shirts somewhere.

Perot was right about " the giant sucking sound" , and I was just shocked that others did not see it. Free trade is not possible with countries that have a lower standard of living than your country.

Back in the early 60s, my dad worked as an engineer for a Dallas company, Core Lab. Ross was their IBM rep. This was righr before Perot founded EDS. Dad was and is a respected engineer, and several of his co-workers suggested that he should work with Perot in his new company. Dad felt the need to stay put with an established company, with the responsibility of 4 kids. Oh, what might have been....

Re: we should have listened to ross perot in the 90s
Ross Perot seems like a good dude. Of course, since he was right, he got labeled as a crazy kook, just like Ron Paul. I'm watching this interview and agree with most of the things being said. I don't like hearing about how taxes have to go up...I don't remember voting for all of these pointless wars and stupid social welfare programs. I don't think it's fair that the older generations voted themselves entitlement programs like social security and now I have to pay much higher taxes to support them. I have my own bills to pay and my own problems to deal with.

Personally, I'm hoping we just flat out default in the next few years so the younger generations won't be crushed in to poverty, with no hope of ever getting out of poverty, thanks to extremely high taxes and the fucking Federal Reserve. We're long past the point of no return.

I'm not ashamed to admit I was his campaign manager in charge of voter registration in my county her in Wichita KS, a traditionally strong Republican bastion. The people working for Mr. Perot's campaign were of an amazingly diverse background: the clearly affluent, the lower-middle class, black, white, Gay [me], straight and everything in between... and, we ALL believed in what we were working toward. It broke our hearts when Mr. Perot removed himself from balloting, but we all had also heard "the stories" and fully understood. BTW: the actual reason he backed out was due to threats made against his daughter's wedding... and with his connections I'm certain his insider info was correct and that there would've been bloodshed at that ceremony had he not pulled back when he did. That day I learned -as did Mr. Perot- just how dirty American politics can become.

I still remember clearly my first meeting with Perot national staffers when they came to my town to indoctrinate us locals on how to conduct our campaigns. They were very level-headed with no sign of the usual political ambitions of greed and power; and, I'll never forget when they invited us all to join them in singing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the end of our meeting. You wouldn't believe the number of people -men and women- who were crying while singing along.

I'll cherish those moments forever.

I hear Perot lives in New Zealand now. James Cameron is another recent arrival, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is moving here soon.
