I sincerely hope his wife, his children, and all of his extended family get to see what a downright abomination this man is. I hope he gets to see the disgust in their faces every time he comes home from another hard day of beating down the working man.

Update: A Philadelphia police officer is under investigation after being caught on video hitting a woman after this weekend's Puerto Rican Day Parade.

That officer, Lt. Jonathan Josey, 39, is assigned to Highway Patrol and is a 19 year veteran of the force.

A source who has seen Josey's file tells Action News he has roughly 20 internal affairs complaints, some for allegedly being physically and verbally abusive.

The woman who was hit is Aida Gusman, a 39-year-old domestic worker and mother of three from Chester, Pa.

Gusman was taken into custody on a disorderly conduct charge for throwing beer on police and was released. Gusman told Action News she went back to the party to reunite with her children.

Gusman denies throwing anything at police and says she had no idea why she was punched.

"I'm 40 years old. I don't have time to play games like that," Gusman said.

Lt. Josey has been removed from street duty pending an Internal Affairs investigation...

The cop should have taken out a test kit and analyzed what it was exactly before apprehending her.

So far this sounds like it's just a bad cop doing bad things.

Now we need to see if the police do anything about it. I really think that investigations of the police need to come from outside their own system, by a group that has the ability to fire and incarcerate a crooked cop without retaliation.

(To clarify, have the crooked police put to full trial, where their actions will be judged as a private citizen, not covered up by their brethren.)

When I hear "The police are investigating themselves" it makes me cringe every time. Should we let drug dealers investigate themselves? Rapists? Murderers?
