I'm flinging my giant mother in law at 'em. It will take weeks to gnaw through her, plenty of time for me to escape.

The Cat D9 bulldozer in the rock quarry a short way up the road.

Why go hand to hand when you can just run over the zombie and grind it to paste.

In such a scenario I'd do it like they did before guns were available. I'd like to have a bow so I could get in a couple of shots at range, then I'd resort to a blunt weapon like a mace.

A sword and Roman style shield would be nice, too. A large shield might could hold one at bay while you kill another.

Because you run out of diesel, and then become a snack.

D-9??? Good grief. Color me impressed. I have worked a Komatsu D-3 to near perfection but a D-9 would take out 100's at a time.

Possible, but unlikely. The quarry has a supply of diesel and we do too. I can't say for sure how much they have, but I know we've got enough for quite some time.

That long spear thing they were using at the end of the max Brooks book. Stab them in the brain from a safe 8 feet away. No noise, no ammo, one goes down after the other. Probably suck when your arms got tired but then don't make a habit of standing around.

Long bow and arrows. Yes I know how to fletch (no this is not the same thing as feltch) Fletching is the art of making arrows. I make most of my arrows already for hunting, been doing that for decades.

For zombies one doesn't even need an arrowhead. A fire hardened stick with decent tail material (be it plastic from milk jugs or feathers) with a 50# bow can do severe damage and break through a skull at about 100 feet (30 yards).

Since we are talking moderate movers I assume they cannot climb a wall/fence. If that is the case all I have to do is close the driveway gate, which is closed 99% of the time anyway.

I already have a 8.5' high property wall/fence combination at the front, with a 10' high fence along the sides. The rear is a 80 degree slope, a near cliff that goes down about 80 feet to the river. The only way to get up that is with rope.

If I need to travel I have the tool shed full of useful tools, spades, shovels, post hole digger, machete, axe, hatchet, pitch forks. I also have extra fencing posts (the type for wire fencing) and other useful 'stuff' I can use.

oh pleace ,bows and arrows,without a doult there plenty out there ,simple,and there are lots of videos on how to make arrows if you run out,but remember these stories,about zombies,come from another one ,about a mist that will come out of the ground,and will drive people insane,what are insane people able to do is any ones guess,but i doult it would be like anything we can imagine,so how can we prepare,,,,zombies ,please ,soulless people walking around,we have them not,and they never seem to die, do they?
