hey OP. I'm from March 30, 2089. Your uncle sent me back to tell you that you left your tomato plants on the porch, but he brought them in for you. good luck and try some sushi before you return...

LMAO !!!!

Wish I had thought of that.

You did think of it. It's in our history files of your time period. I borrowed it from you and you never knew it. It's a time paradox...

These "people" that I live with are just friends. They were looking for a roomate in the newspaper and I in my lonliness decided to contact them.

I have an artificial identification and background story created by my people in 2089. I use this to work and live among people in society.

Why did your people create a background story for you?

Why were you sent to 2012?

Ok, a few questions:

1. Have there been any "World Wars" between 2012 & 2089?

2. What would you say was the most significant event in history between 2012 & 2089?

3. Why are you (and other time travellers) here?

4. What would you say was the most significant advancement in technology between 2012 & 2089?

5. Who invents time travel and in which year?

You should be able to easily answer all of those...
 Quoting: Sperminator X 4912635

1. No world wars. Minor wars yes, but nothing on the level of WWII.

2. The "discovery" of AI. (Of course, time travel would probably rank high on the list of somebody from 2012.)

3. This one is a bit complex. The world is largely corporated, so to speak. I am basically an office worker who was asked to go to 2012 to track down the ancestor of a CEO of a particular company that is relatively influential in my part North America.

4. The advent of AI.

5. Time travel was the product of several companies working under the command of an AI. (As the most popular theory goes.) We honestly don't know. Sorry.

Sorry for the lag.

My computer is slow.

And by the time I answer a couple questions, post, wait a minute for the page to load, I see several NEW posts.

I'm trying to go as fast as I can here. My heart is racing so fast - a HUGE burden has been lifted off my chest! For the first time in a long time, I am speaking about this. Even if you guys don't believe my story, it is helping my cope so much to just talk about it!

The scam is, most people believe that there are a lot of the big winning amounts. Most sctrach offs only have between 2 and 4 jackpot tickets state wide.

Fossil fuel is no longer used. I am not an expert in this stuff, but the electric plants in 2089 have large metallic turbines that spin and generate massive amounts of electricity. Everything is powered by them (much like your time.)

Cars are pretty much the same, actually. Food is largely regional. Weather is the same.

6. Daily life is largely unchanged actually. To be honest, your time is seen in a sort of nostalgic way - it was the time of free communication and invention. Humanity's creative drive seems to have reached a plateau by the 2040s.

But one thing that is different is that NOBODY is overweight in 2089.

7. Yes, but it requires that the person be in a certain exact location at JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT. You miss it, and you lost forever. I missed mine, and I am thinking my colleagues missed it, too. (We don't actually know what that spot is until we arrive. And history has shown that if one person in a group misses their spot, the others do, too. We weren't sure why this is, but it is.)

8. There is no way to know this.

9. No.

10. It's basically the problem-solver of humanity. There is even this one cult that worships it. If a human brain thinks at the speed of chemical, an AI thinks at the speed of light.

11. When you return to your original time, do you return to the exact moment you left, or if you say spent 3 days in 2012, do you return to 2089 3 days later?

12. Who controls the time travelling equipment, and how is it regulated to ensure there is no mis-use?

13. If you can leap back to 2012, and forward to 2089, can you also therefore leap forward to say 2099?

14. Can you travel back in time and meet yourself?

15. What was done to stop people becoming overweight, and how could it be implimented to ensure not a single person over eats? I dont understand how this could be done.

This is the last post I'll answer. I have a huge headache from reading websites for the past couple hours.

11. ecaxt moment

12. It isn't regulated. But not every Dick and jane has acces to it, either. it can be thought of as "highly guarded." Therereally is no government as you know it. It pockets of civilization run by "protectors." (AKA the corporations.)

13. No. (I don't really understand it, but they explain it like this: we can't go into our future because "our" future does not exist. It does exist for those who are part of it, but for us in the present, it does not. It sounds like common sense, but when you experience the REALITY of it, it can be a mindfuck. Basically, the only way contact can be initiated with a nonexistent future being is if that future being THEMSELF initiates the contact. In a sense, their contacting the past is like them "creating" themselves. I was told that it's like an animal at the top of a food chain having brought itself into existence. Again, I was only an office worker. I don't understand physics!)

14. Yes.

15. I didn't mean it in a literal sense. I just meant that people are physically active and eat healthy.
