However, that presents a problem. If the Doc is committed before he gets a chance to invent the time machine, then surely it isn't just people in pictures that should be disappearing. At the point in 2015, when old Biff takes the Delorean and gives the Almanac to young Biff, then surely the time machine should cease to exist, leaving - at best - Marty and Doc stranded in 2015..?

Like I said before, we studied this stuff for several years. We learned everything imaginable, from emoticons and hand gestures to movie references. (And yes, I took the time to watch the movies.)

I had a few YEARS of constant indoctrination. EVERY DAY of that time was spent living in a complex habitat that mirrored your time, complete with trained actors in period clothes. It was an almost perfect replica.

As for the other mention of a movie called "Continuum," I am afraid I am not familiar with it. I will Google it after I post this though.

Have you seen this? Because, from what I gather, this seems to be an uncanny model for the corporate-run future you have described for us, a future developing not too far off as we speak of it here in 2012.

What you are presenting seems to have this progression:

1. Obama's second term sees the continuation of the Republican stalemating of Congress, while he is forced to continue enacting into law measures to control and contain 'potentials' which might otherwise be better considered, then enacted, by Congress itself.

2. This continuing stalemate hurts our country to the point that Romney is either 'elected' next time around, or, this additional four-year period of the Obama 'stalemate' gives TPTB time to institute some way to see that this friend to corporate interests DOES attain office...which, in and of itself, looks feasible in my point of view.

3. During those first-four years of the Romney presidency, laws are enacted handing over to corporate interests everything from health-care to education to food production, and, so forth...which eventually leads us to number 4 on my list:
