I mostly studied the little stuff, like mannerisms and period clothing and stuff.

There is one prediction that I can tell you exactly:

Before the election, it will be revealed that a Chinese corporation has financed much of the smear campaign between Obama and Romney. (Ever sice the Supreme COurt ruled corporations are people, nothing can stop foreign companies from influencing US campaigns, as your future will sadly reveal.

The Surpreme Court in your time ruled that corporations are people and have the rights of a people. That SINGLE ACT is what will ultimately usher in the age of corporate rule.

I have a question. What does the future think about what happened in the september 11 attacks?

They have been promising to go to Mars for YEARS. The date changes all the time.

Fossil fuel is no longer used. I am not an expert in this stuff, but the electric plants in 2089 have large metallic turbines that spin and generate massive amounts of electricity. Everything is powered by them (much like your time.)

Cars are pretty much the same, actually. Food is largely regional. Weather is the same.

Our "computers" are not as you would recognize them. Yes, they are computers in that they handle and transer data. But they are so different than what you people have.

For one thing, they are largely organic. It's not my area of knowledge at all, but I can tell you that using a "computer" in my time is sort of like using an extention of yourself. I don't mean to sound evasive, but it's the best I can describe it. It's like "putting on" an arm or a foot to perform a task, and then taking it off when you are done!

As for the language question:

1. I was recruited for this nearly three years in advance. My training consisted, among other things, in 45 minutes of daily reading of archived internet conversation from your time and constant conversation with peers and teachers in our facility using ONLY the language of this time.

We learned how people folded paper money. (There is NO paper in 2089. It's one of those things you hear about but never see. The first time I ever touched it I got goosebumps from like - sort of like somebody scratching a fork on a plate.)

In short, I went through EXTENSIVE culture training. I also have been here for several months now.

I've been here for months.

Nothing can help me.

I am a weary soul dealt a crushing blow by fate. I am alone and have nobody to confide in. My only consolation is knowing that my words that I write here today will exist in cyberspace forever.

I understand what this forum is. I've browsed it, hoping to find someone out there like me. (I know of at least a handful of other who were stranded more or less in the same time as myself. We are all within a decade or so of each other.)
