One would assume that they had just been told to expect the worst.

Well from what the little girls teacher said, April's parents are very involved.

Most of the time when we make a comment we are coming from our own concept and experience when we deal with kids and such.

I have always made myself aware where my kids go, but I have always lived out of town so, my kids really didn't ride there bikes.

But my heart goes out to the parents. When we see children unattended, please be an oversee, when it comes to children we have to stick together and be a village, There are more peole who are good than bad.

Its just little girls or boys should never be alone for a min....especially at 5, so young....

I will pray for April's parents, I can imagine experiencing a loss of this magnitude.

Wow how shocked i was to read thru this thread, i knew america was a place i would never want to live but i can not believe kids are not even allowed to be kids anymore.It is so sad to even imagine how misirable my 3 kids would be if they could not go outside and play as kids should. im not saying that things are the same as when i was a kid but as a new zealand parent i am still happy to let my kids (youngest is 9 yo boy) to go down to the dairy or library or ride around the street. without that outlet they would be very much so zombies to the screens to play games and apps. i really feel for you guys and i so hope the evil in this country doesnt escalate to your level anytime in the near future. Dont get me wrong, im not saying it doesnt happen here, im just saying its nowhere near the level you guys are on. Children that young do need supervision, yes. But at what point? All of you are going against what you previously said? What is your excuse? Only when a parent is arrested can you scream injustice but a children goes missing you scream the parent is negligent?
