New Hampshire Convention Passes Resolution Rejecting Rule 12
This is a major indicator that the grassroots will not take this lying down. The Republican Party establishment has been given their notice...

"Yesterday, the, the New Hampshire Republican Party, after an afternoon of spirited floor fights, voted to accept a new State Party Platform after 20 proposed amendments were debated. However, the most remarkable event was yet to come. In the closing minutes of the Convention, the GOP delegates passed the following Resolution by an overwhelming voice vote in a sharp rebuke to the national GOP: "

Thank you for asking!

There were changes in the rules at the Republican National Convention essentially redistributing the efforts of the grassroots into the hands of the RNC chairman and the Republican National Committee. The RNCommittee, in the past, has the tendency to go along with whatever the chairman wants to do, so this gives incredible power to the chairman.

Rule 12 states that the RNCommittee can change the rules with a 3/4 vote without the votes of the Republican National Convention delegates. It gives them the power to make any rules changes necessary to stomp out grassroots control.

I'll answer your questions from first to last.

I'm not saying that Paul is still going to try and use this to get into the running. What the New Hampshirites are saying is that they reject the Republican establishment's attempt at diminishing the grassroots' say in the party.

Gary Johnson IS the Libertarian Party candidate, and also by my speculation, the philosophical libertarian candidate due to his record as governor of New Mexico.

Paul can still access the ticket on the GOP if Romney backs down.

It doesn't necessarily help our movement in not electing Romney or Obama. One of them will be elected. It helps our movement through building morale. It's like, "Hey, these guys fought the establishment and gave us a model, we can do it too!"

We do have the numbers of active people in our movement. This is evidenced by what happened over the weekend by the New Hampshire liberty movement.

You can do it too. We can do it too. You and I will do it, too!

The problem seems to me is that there is no difference between the republicans and the democrats.

The republican party has abandoned the conservatives in every regards except rhetoric.

We throw the buggers out of office to simply put new buggers in office. Nothing changes because there is no difference once they get to Washington.

Same shit....different buggers.

We need a third and maybe a fourth party where we as voters can make a difference.
It's obvious that our votes no longer matter. The differences between the parties is just illusion.

Let them change the rules all they want...it's not our party anymore.

I agree with you up to a point. I am 25. The Republican party has never been my party except in supporting Ron Paul.

I've learned since 2007 that participating in party politics has a massive effect. There is no doubt in my mind that our votes can matter very soon.

This rules change from the Republican party did create a setback. However, if I know my Ron Paul activists, then I know that this move will create the blowback the party establishment loves to ignore.

I guarantee it.
