MT St Helens - 40 Mins Ago Small Earthquake Followed by Steaming Around The Rim
There was a small EQ approx 40 mins ago...Notice the Seismograph slightly busy before the EQ and then getting very busy after the quake (Shown In Green)

[link to www.ess.washington.edu]

Now the Webcam..It has been showing steam coming off from around the rim of the crater, almost like the rock around the peak is warming up...or steam is coming out of the vents...

At times, the steaming seems to intensify then calms down...

Webcam:

Don't know if all this is a sign but thought I'd post it...

Now starting to look more hazy inside the crater...

What ever it is, seems to be getting worse...

Please God, not again....such a mess last time and ash never seems to go away, a quarter of an inch can make life miserable for months. A foot....hell on earth.

But on the positive side, it's good for the soil.

I don't think that's steam. I think it's dust from small rockslides inside the crater, something that happens there frequently.

NOT a huge wind storm at all.....

Weather for Mount Saint Helens, Washington, USA

17°C | °F
Clear
Wind: NW at 6 mph
Humidity: 59%

[link to www.google.co.uk (secure)]

Not a huge amount of wind to kick up dust like that....

Besides, I posted this thread 2 hours ago and it is still the same if not slightly worse...

The wind speed there is wrong. I'm in Washington, the wind started blowing out of the north at 2 0mph around noon. Gusts were reported locally in excess of 35 mph, but I assure you it's higher than that.

Can't see St.Helen's from here, but the wind is blowing a gale.

Yeah, I noticed that before....However, it says it updates every 5 mins, but before, I noticed it hadn't updated the picture for over 20 mins....

On a side note...

Look at stations..SEP, SHW & HSR (Black line at top)

[link to www.ess.washington.edu]

There was a little shake that lasted 50 secs on all them 3 stations......
