That is 1.5 million, million dollars. And you are upset about 30 phones in some barely literate woman's purse. If more people were able to do basic math, they would be better at placing their rage. |

Well they sure know where this bitch is! T For Texas, T For Tennessee! The virtue of courage is a prerequisite for the practice of all other virtues, because otherwise one is virtuous only when virtue has no cost. There are times when something needs to be done, and yet we know that if we step up and do this needful thing, we will pay a heavy personal price. -C.S. Lewis |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 23779562 Canada 10/02/2012 08:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are only supposed to have one lifeline per household. You now have to attest to income etc.. and if your are caught lying you could be fined & do jail time. Lifeline now gives you the choice of getting a discount on your home phone or getting the cell phone. You cannot have both and you cannot have more than one phone per household. The Federal Lifeline Plan was started in 1984 by the Federal Communication Commission. To qualify you have to show proof of income. I believe in my State one person cannot make more than 13,000. You know I could say many things about tax's I pay. For instance the cost of busing children to school is extremely high in my area due to the fact they have a choice of what school they would like to attend. I could say well I have no children.. why should I have to pay tax's to educate & transport other people's children to school? The parent's could make 100,000 a year & taxpayers still have to pay for it. Let's not forget Unemployment, Social Security Disability, Social Security etc... which I have not seen a dime of. I don't see the point in complaining about a ten dollar phone and 12.50 a month in minutes for a family that makes so little money, yet not complain about paying such high taxes to educate & bus children to school where the parents could be making a million dollars a year. |

Long before this was popular, I used to buy stuff on triple coupon days when I lived somewhere that did that. I did it to try new things I would not otherwise have bought. Oh, and a few times I did it and donated all the food. But I only bought one of each thing. It didn't occur to me to do otherwise. |

Yes, its a pity when they dont leave any for anyone else Its the human condition on why we cant go to a different type of living system without money. People will still grab and hoard more than their share..and even more than simply just a rainy day Have one plot of land. someone will want two and ten and 100 plots for themselves.. It is a disorder I helped out at the Lowes Build and Grow workshop and each kid is allowed one craft project free to build. It was all laid out in boxes for the kids to pick which one. One lady brought over her chart and loaded it up, grabbing all the different packets, Probaly a few hundred dollars worth cause each one is worth about 6-10 dollars each.. I just dont understand people like that. Only thing Ive super hoarded was taking all the yogurt on clearance at my healthfood store but only cause it was soon to be thrown away.. (my only guilty confession. LOL) |

Robot Emotions User ID: 24612216 United States 10/02/2012 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You call Verizon or AT&T and tell them to drop the Lifeline program. They'll laugh at you, because it isn't about social welfare. It is corporate welfare. They are the ones who petitioned Reagan to start the program, they're the ones who petitioned Obama to open up the tax to cellular service as well, because land line service had become more expensive to provide than cellular service at the economy of scale they're dealing with these days. The big telcos pocket your tax dollars at a profit on these things, and you're mad at the blacks. Guess what. People on welfare HAVE HAD FREE FUCKING PHONES SINCE RONALD FUCKING REAGAN. Republican plan, corporate welfare. So easy to twist your damn knickers so you're mad at the bad horrible black man instead of your corporate masters. |

Ronald Reagan signed off on the FCC Lifeline program. +1 AND BushJr. expanded the program in 2008. |
