why would they go after syria when they know they will never beable to hold,and or keep ,is syria part of their old maps or war footprints??????????i think like the greeks that they try to reclaim the lands from their past victories,the ottoman empire,i dont know someone has to look at their history and post some real possibilities,there are those who think,that they will fight there final war in greece,syria might just be a flanking,move to benifit the russians,if you draw a line,straight down from russia to the greek land mass,then i would worry about every nation in that corredor,that road,funny thing is that if the russians were to take that route it would be almost the same type of conquest the romans attempted,,,,,we need people on this site who know historital facts,i really dont believe that these nations envoled have any type of intellengence,if i am right they will look to history to reclaim past failures,why, because any nation with any real type of purpose would not go to war.

I think it has more to do with Obama pleasing the US electorate than anything tbh, thus the before elections strike, Libya is in shambles anyway, strike won't make a difference. The operation will also include the Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti and Sigonella in Sicily, troops are already gathering there too, but Souda will be the central/main base of the operation.
