apply freshly squeezed lemon juice. it gets rid of garlicy fingers. it may work and it's natural. maybe try drinking it also to cleanse the insides. squish a whole fresh lemon into hot water (no sugar if you can take it).

I know when I start to smell

The sweet smell is true for white girls and some Asians. Other Asians have a very wonderful musky marmite taste and smell. Blacks have a completely different smell that's hard to describe.

I agree with vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis does not always smell "fishy" - it can also smell like onions.

It happens when the PH of the vagina is off and certain types of bacteria become overgrown. It's not something that would show up on any of the OB?GYN's tests, especially if it's subclinical. If let go, it can cause shancges in the cervical cells (which would show on a papspear) but if she has not had it for too long or if it is not too severe, the doctor probably would not have caught it.

Reasons for bacterial vaginosis occuring can be anything from stress to chronic dehydration to smoking to synthetic underwear to... well, there can be lots of causes. It's not an STD.

Best course of action would be to get her to take a really good probiotic supplement orally. Get one from the refrigerated section of the health food store that is enteric coated, and it should not cost less that $25-30 for a decent supplement. Follow the directions on the bottle. If you can somehow broach this topic with her, inserting one into her vagina (with a tiny bit of water to soften the gel capsule) with get her vaginal flora back on track lickety split! But if not,. she should take them orally for at least 2-4 weeks as per the directions on the bottle.

Also, as another poster suggested, use a really high quality extra-virgin organic coconut oil for lube if you have sex. It will help to kill off the bad bacteria (I don't know why - it just works, and I've read coconut oil also helps kill yeast overgrowths, so you'll kill two birds with one stone).
