That is a misstatement and misrepresentation of belief.


LDS members believe that earth is a spiritual training ground. We are removed from our spiritual home and knowledge of our preexistence is blocked - we are sent to Earth to take on a human body and choose. Free will is a gift from God. We can choose to do good... or choose to do bad... but we are responsible for our choice. If we do good... then we are elevated.... after we die, we continue to learn.... and ascend... Only very few souls ascent to the celestial kingdom.... fewer still ascend as celestial beings... no only in charge of planets... but entire dimensions. it is beyond your comprehension to understand because you can't comprehend the infinite.
