Question: Why is it considered 'sophisticated' for a guy

to be 'soft-spoken', metrosexual and effete? I've noticed many guys with college degrees, in corporate environments and elsewhere, start changing their accents, speaking in an what I would consider effete affectation accent, in addition to becoming metrosexual. You see this academia and elsewhere, also. It's like if you want to be considered educated you must be 'soft', for lack of a better term.
