The protesters took to the streets around the Turkish parliament on Thursday, chanting, “We don't want war!” and “The Syrian people are our brothers!”
The Turkish parliament was debating a motion that would allow military operations in Syria if the government considers them as necessary.

Turk shelling an accident: Syria to Russia

Syria has recognised that its deadly shelling of a Turkish town was a "tragic accident" and has vowed not to let it happen again, its main ally Russia says.

"Through our ambassador to Syria, we have spoken to the Syrian authorities who assured us ... that what happened at the border with Turkey was a tragic accident, and that it will not happen again," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in Russian news agency reports on Thursday.

"We think it is vital that Damascus states this officially," Lavrov said in Islamabad, following a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart.

Turkey should be the ones saying sorry for prematurely going on the offensive without the evidence stating that it was indeed SAA who fired the mortar(s)
