I didn't read this whole thread. But back in the day I taught undergraduate courses when I was in grad school. I had one female student who was always very friendly with me--even borderline flirtatious. She had an accident that required her to miss a week of class. A couple of weeks after she came back, she stayed behind one day. She came up to me and asked me if I really wanted to know why she had missed class. It turned out she swallowed something that needed to be removed immediately. The doctors made a small incision in her chest to access her stomach to get the thing out. After explaining this, she said, "Check out my scar!" She pulled her shirt up and flashed me. She was wearing a bra, but still. It's the only time one of my students ever flashed me. And she was seriously 19-year-old undergrad hot. But, even then, I was a married man. I took no further action. But I don't think comments like "Big boy" are made for nothing.

as an "instructor" (I note you did not say "professor") I assume you make what, like $18K. Fuck it. And then fuck her. I swear, you have to lead a horse to water apparently. When I was in college there was a professor who routinely dated his female students. Nothing ever happened to him, except maybe getting some ass.

There's a middle ground here dude. She MAY have been being a little mouthy bitch, but she also MAY have been throwing it at him. Without witnessing the transaction, who can say? Obviously the OP doesn't know what the hell is going on in front of him.

OP should ask her to stay after class next time and just straight up ask her what she meant by her comment. If she was being a bitch, she'll be defensive and/or bitchy. If she was coming on to him, that should also be obvious as she'll be coy, she might smile, or she might just come out and ask him to bang her like a Salvation Army drum.

Kick her out of class. If you lose control of the class, they will walk all over you, and noone learns anything. I never let a student speak to me like that.

As a professor for over 15 years I can attest to the fact that many many young women have had crushes on me. Flirting with profs is very common.

It is of course the great irony of my position that if I were ever act on any of these advances that I would be fired, never be able to get a job teaching ever again, and lose the very thing that makes me attractive to young women.

It's called "Sarcasm" and it is our common language second only to English. Something you should be proficient in by now. However depending upon the context, she could be hitting on you. (she said to tell you..."You wish").
