OP, it seems that I have always had the ability to be aware that I am in a dream when I am dreaming, but it seems that I am aware that I'm dreaming in increasing numbers lately. It seems to happen most often during nightmares. For example I might be dreaming that I am being chased by a horrific beast and just when it is about to pounce, I realize that it cannot possibly be real, that it must be a dream, and I will myself to wake up. Sometimes, realizing that it is a dream, I change the dream.

Is there any significance to me in this?
